Wow. Satellite connectivity is a huge thing for sure and I think this is a good device with its Mediatek chip and rugged structure.
Gee thanks for going out of business January 29th 2024 and Not notifying Anyone about this Fact , I really enjoy wasting 156.00 to buy it 24.00 more for a subscription plan ,34.00 more for the overwatch plan and It never connects to my Bluetooth on a brand new android phone running android 14 . Bluetooth to any phone what a liar . I hope there's a class action lawsuit cause I'm going to be on that paperwork. The bullit app Doesn't work correctly, doesn't connect to Bluetooth at all, the user setup guide is so tiny I had to use a magnifying glass to read the terrible directions. Not happy
Hopefully they figure out a way to take over the device so it can keep working?

I've been planning to make a move to live part time outside of the U.S. and I've been looking at some places that have less than stable internet/cellular service. A phone with a satellite service as backup could be really useful. I'm surprised they aren't using Starlink as well (just saw this was discussed as well).
And for the starlink service I think it'll happen in two ways, once they launch the large version 2 satellites then it'll add basic cellular messaging potentially also data globally, But it might take few years for them to launch a few thousand of these, most crucially the large Starship rocket needs to work and it's the biggest rocket ever made by far so we have to hope it'll work. secondly I think they might be some phones coming out in the future with faced array antenna on the LCD-based display to to connect to existing version one as well as version two satellites with better data capability. But those are different.
Im just waiting for this time be released now. I will buy it as soon as it is available.
