There is a deleted scene from Superman II where they literally take Zod and the others in handcuffs. I imagine they cut that scene because it was a bit silly that cops in snow vehicles could reach his fortress. (I guess if t wasn't in the film, it isn't canon, but make of that what you will. ) I really dug the Snyder films, and the points you raise about the destruction, and Zod's fate make perfect sense. Snyder has a wonderful visual aesthetic, but sometimes at the expense of story, and a need to deconstruct superheroes. (all well documented, and you pointed them out here.) On more than one occasion, he's said he did a thing simply because it looked "cool". Still, I was more than willing to take the ride he was offering, and was elated that he got to at least get his version of JL seen. I also have enjoyed Gunn's films, and look forward to his take on things. I look at it like a comic book, with writers and artists changing the look and feel of a project, and let it rise or fall on their merits. I just don't get the insane devotion to one creator. I still go back and watch Man of Steel, because flaws and all, it's a cool flick. And yeah, the soundtrack is phenomenal.
The sound track was amazing! Yeah I watch man of steel at least once a year. I think it was a great starting off point and with a lot of potential. I look forward to seeing the story James Gunn wants to share
The fans are trying to control who Superman is and what he can do. The fact that fans are deciding what Sups can or can't do is what's killing the character.
I understand where you are coming from while explaining the reasoning for superman's actions, and i agree with all of them. My personal problem is the creators put him in those situations.
Understand completely. I personally don’t mind them telling a different story. But his execution of the idea doesn’t always work. I would have loved to see how Superman’s actions in this movie shaped the Superman of hope we all know. But that’s just not the direction it went
I was raised on Reeves and Keaton but MOS is my favourite superhero movie ever made, it was truly an amazing movie the most human superman had ever been and I truly loved it!!!
Also this movie literally shadowed Christophers origin story eye for an eye literally besides a couple of things. But blame the writer, Zack did what he did with the materials he was given.
Excellent movie, the scene where he learns to fly is my favorite and it's very beautiful
Beautiful and inspiring. “One day they shall join you in the sun”
The best Superman Movie EVER!!
And it's not close
Definitely my favorite…for now

I’m planning to do the same thing building up towards the new film 👊
Man of steel is a gem , so underrated but starting to get its flowers now 👍
Yeah I agree with you a true gem I will cherish and remember fondly

That's a good take.
That’s why I just go into a movie and let the story teller tell me their story. No expectations but a good film

I completely understand. I don’t mind them wanting to do something different. Just how he executed some of his ideas didn’t work for me.

Agree with you totally. I watch it once a year. Definitely a top 3 superhero movie for me

Do you think its weird that in Superman returns, lois and sups were always there to help each other? It was crazy.
Superman returns the thing that got me was the big action scenes involved a plane and a big rock lol
#ManOfSteel #RestoreTheSnyderverse
I don’t think that will happen but we still have his movies
I like Man of Steel. Excited for James Gunn's movie. Thats all I'll say.

Amazing how people review this movie when they use common sense and are objective. I love Man of Steel and I enjoyed this review.
Awww that’s a very kind thing to say. And yeah don’t hate things just to hate or because it’s not what you wanted. If it works it works
