Why do you need to remove the column shifter? GM researched and found that their loyal customers preferred the column shifter. It’s such a stupid thing to complain about. These truck have completely transformed in the last 20 years. Just enjoy them for goodness sake.
a_a_ron that’s the problem. Chevy needs knew customer to keep up. The demand for the Silverado just isn’t there like it is for the F150 and now the Ram. That being said the Silverado does look better than them both but that isn’t enough.
The High Country is beautiful ... that interior combo looks great. I really don't understand why people hate on the Silverado interior ... yes, Ram blows it out of the water. But it's functional? I don't know what else you need, I'd prefer some more soft-touch materials but it's a truck, not a Cadillac. I think Ram may have over-engineered their interior to some degree... I find the infotainment system in the new Ram Limited distracting to be honest. Beautiful, but distracting while driving and trying to change settings. These new '19 Silverado's are growing on me. My dealer loaned me a '19 LT Trailboss for a day while they fixed something on my '18 Silverado LT (tinting issue). I found the '19 definitely drives lighter, both in steering and acceleration off the line.
I’ve only driven Chevy’s since 2004. I never thought I would say this but the 2019 Ram 1500 Limited is so far ahead it was impossible to not buy it. The screen is large yes but not distracting to me at all. The air suspension off road levels are crazy and excellent for mudding down here in Texas. It’s just a beautiful truck. I was so bummed that the Silverado wasn’t even close. Now the Sierra Denali is a great truck and came very close to taking my check book.
I think the interior is nice, plain and typical Chevrolet. Good quality, just not the glamour of the RAM. I totally agree they should have put more work in the interior. I think the exterior of the Silverado and new GMC Sierra is beautiful. At or near the top of the exterior looks in the class. I love the fact the power train is still the tried and true reliable EcoTec V8’s. Can’t wait to see the new diesel I’m hearing it’s expected to be super sweet and top of the diesel class in half tons. Not sure about the new 4 banger but all the tests it performs well.
We have a 2020 LTZ that has nearly everything the high country has (person who ordered it paid for lots of upgrades). We didn’t care about a sun roof, or the electronic running boards, but wanted the duramax diesel. We are averaging @ 30.6 MPG and LOVE this truck.
Outstanding review Nolan 👍🏽 You don’t miss a beat!! I personally prefer the Sierra Denali over the Silverado, but this one is nice too. I think you would prefer the Denali also 🙃
Thank you very much, I appreciate your support! I’m with you about the Denali, it offers a little more and seems to even ride better with the Adaptive ride control. Good call 👍
I like it but I still lean towards the denali. Car and driver tested the new limited f150 with the high output ecoboost. It did 0 to 60 in 5.1 seconds and went through the quarter mile in 13.7. That's very quick for a full-size truck fully loaded with 4wd.
@@PrimeAutotainment I'm looking for one now. I was trying to decide between a 18 and a 19. I'll take either model if I find one I like. Do you get to test vehicles through dealers or press fleets?
Very cool. I’d love to know what you end up getting. This one was press fleet, it varies. No regular press fleet vehicles for me yet, if I don’t have a press car I go to a dealer
Uncle Chuckles no doubt. I’m testing an F-150 right now with a console shifter and our if habit I always reach for the column lol. Thanks again! If you want to see note detail I reviewed the 2019 Sierra Denali too that’s longer and more detailed. Take care!
Have you ever tried accurately touching a touch screen on a bumpy road or while you take off from a red light? I'll take real buttons over a huge touch screen Any day.
Sure have, I know what you mean. I was just in a Tacoma lately where everything is touchscreen except volume/tuning - not my favorite. I always prefer having buttons too, but I truly expected them to offer a bigger screen at least as an option. Ram has a smaller and bigger screen so meet a lot of people’s needs. The nice thing about the Silverado that I didn’t mention is that you can use the tuning knob to scroll through parts of the screen and make selections without needing to actually touch the screen. For me personally, it’s enough, but lots of people expect or want more. I appreciate your time and the comment! 👍
Fbz 18 don’t get a Ram son. They depreciate quicker and are junk. I had a Ram Laramie with a Hemi, nitrous kit and all. Took great care of it and it turned to junk within 2years. Chevy and Ford are much better quality
Doesn't the GMC muti pro tailgate hit the tow ball ? when its deployed ? also I still don't like the square wheel arches on the GMC, but I like this Silverado very much.
Why would you be using the drop down for the multi pro tailgate when you have a trailer hooked up to it? That’s two separate situations. If you’re loading your bed with equipment or material you would be doing that before you hook up your trailer. The wheel arches are still boxed but they are ELONGATED. Just take time to compare it to the previous generation and you can clearly see that.
@@ElectricBlueIX Soo your saying that every time I drop the tailgate I take my tow ball outa the hitch ? to load up ? Err I'd rather just buy the Silverado without the Multi pro and without the ELONGATED wheel arches then I'll be happy , If it suits your needs then go for it , I can certainly see the advantages (of the multi pro, Not the ELONGATED wheel arches ;-) ) but for my personal taste I like this new Silverado without them.
Ian walker then just say that you like the Silverado better. But criticizing the Multipro tailgate as if it’s features will hinder you from doing anything you’d be able to do with a regular tailgate is ridiculous. You can open the primary gate without unfolding the Multipro tailgate completely.
Again everything well explained thanks for the information , but I would like also to know price basic and as well fully loaded...I'm looking to buy a truck by NOVEMBER this year but would be a 2020 model ... and your videos really help out to make my mind on which truck to get...thankyou..👍
Bought a 18 High Country 6.2L new, now the dealer says the price went up $10,000 for 2020, that's insane to get a few upgrades. Sorry I'll be keeping what I have for 10 years.
These look so nice. It's hard to get interested however, after getting badly burned. I had to trade early on a new one I purchased a few years ago, because it was totally unreliable. It had 5 complete electrical failures in the 1st two years. I've been most happy with 3 Tundras.
Dang that’s a bummer, sorry to hear that. Reliability issues are the worst. Glad to hear your Tundra experience, those are solid trucks! Thanks for watching!
I love the interior. It’s simple and clean. Why do we need fake wood everywhere like the Ram? I’ve seen the loaded Ram interior in person and I wasn’t impressed cause it literally just looks. You’re not getting a Mercedes or BMW interior like you think you are...sorry.
I actually am testing a Ford right now 😁. First one they’ve given me. Haven’t been able to be in contact with any of them u too recently. I was invited to drive the Ford Edge and could t make it, so they said they’d let me try testing one later in and see how it goes. Hopefully I can get more. For Ram, I applied to the FCA press fleet and was denied. I tried reaching out to one of them and couldn’t get ahold of the person I needed. I’m going to keep trying though, and if I can’t then I’ll try getting one from a dealer. Appreciate your support!
NOLAN! Hey how’s it going? This version of the Silverado is the first one I see that looks decent in video in my opinion. The dash is not revolutionary as you mention and I am torn of a huge Screen versus tactile buttons and knobs. I couldn’t wait to see screens in car making them futuristic a clearing up space. But in everyday convenience and safety and use ability I know you must get use to it but hard buttons need to be present for certain applications like Temp, volume, Mute. I know today so many controls are on the wheel and I’ve seen steering wheels getting a Over load of buttons. I am not ranting I am generalizing my opinion. I do think the RAM has the WOW interior by far.
Glad you like the looks on this one! I had it facing the windows at work and my coworkers all liked the looks of it. It’s always fun to hear “non car people’s” thoughts like them lol. I hear ya one the screens. I kind of have mixed feelings on them too and don’t really know for sure what I’d like best. Thanks for watching and the support!!
I’ve heard of people putting in regular and being ok. I’ve also heard people say it can causing pinging it knocking...everywhere I look I see contradicting information... 🤷♂️
It’s still a fairly still ride especially with these bigger wheels but pretty composed. It’s “supposed” to be smoother than the previous generation but it’s minimal from what I could tell. Honestly I felt like the GMC Sierra with Adaptive Ride Control felt a bit smoother
Go to the 5:05 mark in the video and pause. You see the headlight dial where it says auto? It’s the bottom half of that button. If you press it once, passenger mirror is on, press it twice and drivers side. I think that’s the pattern. Try that out! 👍
Prime Autotainment the button you talking about is the one on top left? I know the buttons on the top are you 4x4 stuff I’m talking about the second set of 4 buttons
Under the 4x4 buttons (those 4) Too left is fog lights Too right: truck bed light Bottom left and right are interior light brightness/dimming The dial at the bottom that can soon to control the headlights is where the button is. You don’t twist the dial though, it’s the bottom half of the dial that you push. It looks like a light shining down to the ground
Sup man? This one is pretty sharp looking. Maybe the color? I like the two-toned interior look as well. Still not a fan of the front end style nor the interior design. Also not a fan of the old school column shifter. It’s too ‘90’s. GM should have at least given the option of a floor shift. It does looks good from the rear 3/4 view though. Overall, I still have to give it to Ram. They got the upper hand on GM on the design edge with the Ram.
Jonathan Schmidt what’s going on! The paint coat was a $1000 add on. Yeah design isn’t my favorite either, of all silverados I like the trail boss the most. Interior was a disappointment to me. I used to own an ‘06 Silverado and probably wouldn’t go with one right now. That new Ram is impressive and I hope I get a chance with one. I’m actually in the F-150 right now and might compile video from each for a comparison, we’ll see how it plays out. Thanks for watching bud!
Prime Autotainment Going pretty good! Yeah, a comparo video would be great! I like the look of the TrailBoss the best as well. The 99-06 Silverados/Sierras were the best GM trucks in my opinion. We sold a ton of them back in the day and still sell one now and then. The 07-13 were a big step back. The interiors were horrible. Almost every one we get at the dealership has a cracked up dash and the buttons wear off. And don’t even get me started on the chrome exterior door handles. We have to replace so many of them, I order them from our aftermarket supplier in bulk..no lie. The 14-18 models are nicer and was a step in the right direction, but we have had a few run ins with transmission issues. I just wish GM would have went all out and did something really special with this new one. Then again, I’m not a truck buyer, so I guess they know their audience.
Jonathan Schmidt great to hear your experience with them. That’s a shame to hear those issues. I agree with you though, I had an ‘06 and mom still has an ‘02 that’s doing ok at 250k miles. With this gen, like you said, I wish they did more. I think as long as it looks tough, and is capable...then can risk it more with other things to make it awesome. Oh well, if they’re comfortable not being the best seller, so be it lol. My buddy is testing a 2019 Forester right now and said he thinks it’s best in the class. I usually get the vehicles he gets..but later on so hopefully I get that lol
Prime Autotainment Glad to hear that! They will sell plenty of them I’m sure. Glad to hear your friend is impressed. I’d love for you to get ahold of it and let me know what you think. My sister is seriously considering trading her CX-5 for a ‘19 Forester. Haven’t had a chance to go drive one yet though.
Just a word of caution - the new 2019 Silverado-Sierra twins can NOT even be ordered or does NOT come with the “power brake and foot pedal” adjuster.... Think about such a large truck without this option....If you have short legs, you have to move up the seat close to the steering wheel, which has an airbag in it. This is normally a pretty standard option for most trucks (GM, Ram, Ford)...Note-I actually own a 2017 Silverado, but some “bean counter” within GM axed this very useful feature (so they added rear vents finally but deleted the Power Pedal feature. Yah, this makes sense). Maybe a GM truck engineer will recommend removing the Power Window option while they’re removing other options or features.
my ford raptor has power pedals, but its kind of a gimmick because they move back and fourth like 2 inches at max. Vehicles never had power pedals before, why do they need them now?
The best of the best 1979-85 Toyota pickup. Better than the New ones. I have 1984 4x4 a/c climbs any hill . Why new pickup it's so expensive. I can use that money to buy a land with home in the forest without any worries. I have a car too. I like tundra limited 4x4 2019. The best.
A 40 year old truck would not hold a damn candle to any newer pickup. You are very ignorant in all areas of life. No one cares where you plan on living. A toyota tundra is practically a toyota camry with a pickup bed.
Yeah I should have explained lol...instead of needing to get into high RPMs like some engines...there’s a lot of pull and torque than comes in the lower RPMs. It felt like it can provide a good amount of torque through a big range
Chevy better start doing something with its boring interior if it wants to compete with Ford and Ram. And the Colum Shifter makes it look even older and outdated inside hahaha... The Outside looks good and then you get inside and makes you feel like your back in 2012 hahaha...
Yeah I was pretty surprised by the interior..not as modern as I expected. That seems to be the biggest complaint I’ve been seeing. Thanks for the input and watching!!
The column shifter is the only option for pickup trucks, its completely practical and useful, why waste all that space in the middle when you dont have to? Ford is the laughing stock of the industry right now, they arent competing with anyone with that garbage 3.5 engine
I was really surprised to see it when it first came out. And reading press information it says the interior was inspired by “customer feedback”. I think a lot of people expected more lol
It has all the same options as Ford and Ram without all the bling. I prefer the gm enterior personally. To the point design. And real aluminum accents.
I so want to love the GM/Chevy trucks. However once again I bought an F150. The biggest issue was all of the Silverados and Sierras on my local dealer lots had interiors the were very dark grey and black. Since this is were I spend my time with a truck I need something enjoyable rather than dreary. I bought another F150.
In my opinion does not worth the money. I rather to spend the money on Ram or Ford. How do they want customers to spend 65k$ to a truck that has cheap plastic everywhere?. On other hand with Ram you set on truck that’s high quality and does worth the money. The funny thing is they removed the adjustment for the seatbelt to save money which is very important for safety.
Yeah these prices are getting crazy. I’d much rather go for a middle trim truck and pick some items I want to add. Good point on the seatbelt lol, crazy. Like i told you about the Ford I’m testing..it’s the same price as this truck so I’m going to try and put a comparison together. Thanks for watching, sir!
Prime Autotainment do you remember when I was telling that I’m about to buy a car and I was between Camry or Accord. Finally I made my decision and I bought new ride last month. I bought the new Es 350 and So far I’m super happy with and it’s amazing.
Saw one in a parking lot today. Sorry but not for me. Can't get past the horrible looking front end. Chevy designers missed the mark on this one and stand to lose ground big time to the new Ram. As for the Ford F 150? Still the best of the bunch even though it is now the oldest. There is a reason why it is the best seller year after year, it simply does the job and does it great!
A lot of people seem to not like the looks. I’m curious to see how much ground the RAM gains, it’s quite impressive. And yeah I think the F-150 will stay on top, it’s very well rounded. Thanks for the input and watching!
That Dash is just too plain and looks oddly shaped. The truck they really went out there and played it safe inside. I see these and just think i would like one but cant get passed the interior being so bland.
UGLY. !!!! I don't like it at all. the front end looks like a midsize SUV. cheap looking imop. ram interior far superior no contest Denali or high country.
the interior designers should be fired on the spot. pathetic, pathetic, pathetic. they trying hard to follow Ford and Dodge. the exterior is beautiful but them guts on the inside looks dated. Fire the interior Designers,GM!
What do you mean they copied ford and ram, it looks like every other chevy interior theyve ever made. Its practical and functional, its a pickup truck, not a BMW...
This isn’t the off road high country so no you’re not fully loaded lol. I understand you chose the power roof, lane change package over the off road package but that was extremely stupid. Get the off road package with an optional power roof. I have lane change assist and I NeVeR use it, i would never give up off road for technology I would never use.

no dude its all about GM is too cheap and suck they wont put one in for that price so it all means they will be in third place and falling fast...lmao
F-150 KING OF TRUCKS I doubt it...I rather have a small sunroof with a V8 than a $65k v6. It’s just the fact that you pay all that for a v6.
I love mine
I only wish this truck comes with a key start instead of push to start
The 2018 still has the keyd ignition
Where are your Ram reviews?
I’ve tried to get access to them a few times with no luck. I’m hoping to be able to soon!
RISE TOGETHERS ❤
Those who cant afford it will criticize lol
Looks great I love 💙❤💙❤
how is the feel in the road ?
It’s still a fairly still ride especially with these bigger wheels but pretty composed. It’s “supposed” to be smoother than the previous generation but it’s minimal from what I could tell. Honestly I felt like the GMC Sierra with Adaptive Ride Control felt a bit smoother
@@PrimeAutotainment the 6.2 have adaptive ride control ?
As of right now it’s only available on the Sierra and not the Silverado...surprisingly. Just like the multipro tailgate
Hey how did you get the lights to come on on the mirrors? The front part of them. I can’t figure it out on mine
Under the 4x4 buttons (those 4)
Too left is fog lights
Too right: truck bed light
Bottom left and right are interior light brightness/dimming
The dial at the bottom that can soon to control the headlights is where the button is.
You don’t twist the dial though, it’s the bottom half of the dial that you push. It looks like a light shining down to the ground
Go to 11:00 on this GMC Sierra video, I don’t turn them on but point it out. I called it “perimeter lighting”

Over 60 Grand though damn😥🤔
No kidding lol
Esse Silverado será vendida para o Brasil?
Obrigado.
Great review but please turn off that rear view camera.
Thank you, sorry! I forgot about that once I was driving. Thanks for watching!
Prime Autotainment No problem. You do great at these car reviews and I have subbed so I can’t wait to see more.
Dustin Hart thank you very much, I appreciate that!
The front looks like nemesis from resident evil movie
$67k plus $10k in options? Or $67k including $10k options?
$67k total. That includes all options. Sorry I wasn’t clear about that!
The problem isn’t the truck it’s the price. Ford and ram have discounts and Chevy for some reason doesn’t!!
They know their worth, ford f150s are disposable, 2-3 years and off to the scrap yard, chevys last 15-20 years no problem.
Ah that’s cool, if she gets one let me know how she likes it. I’m still hoping and trying to get one. Have a great rest of your weekend man!
Nissan Titan next brus
Great review However Ram now leads the way.
Thank you! The Ram is really impressive!
Ram is a gimmick. Junky overall truck with some tech to make simple minded people realize how garbage of a vehicle it is
Rubbage 🍋
Lighter, more aerodynamic, same power output and yet somehow less efficient...
Seriously 🤷♂️
I have a 2014 high country and I really think they took a big step back in the interior side of things, also I am against the front look of the grill
the interior is near identical from 14-18 and 2019-20
The best of the best 1979-85 Toyota pickup.
14:24 "Torquiness"?
The only shifter any truck should have is a column shifter.
The column shifter is the only option for pickup trucks, its completely practical and useful, why waste all that space in the middle when you dont have to? Ford is the laughing stock of the industry right now, they arent competing with anyone with that garbage 3.5 engine
I want to see Chevy Philippines to sell this truck so bad I don't like the Colorado either and I want this truck to sell in my home country 😕
I’m sorry, but I really like the 2018 model better.
everyone says that when a new design comes out.
THE BEST RELIABLE PICKUP IS TUNDRA.
A tundra is a toyota camry with a pickup bed
The interior is far behind the Ford and Ram. Only one USB port in the center?? Lazy design.
I was really surprised to see it when it first came out. And reading press information it says the interior was inspired by “customer feedback”. I think a lot of people expected more lol
It has all the same options as Ford and Ram without all the bling. I prefer the gm enterior personally. To the point design. And real aluminum accents.
Looks nice a Nissan and a Ford has a baby
I so want to love the GM/Chevy trucks. However once again I bought an F150. The biggest issue was all of the Silverados and Sierras on my local dealer lots had interiors the were very dark grey and black. Since this is were I spend my time with a truck I need something enjoyable rather than dreary. I bought another F150.
I hear ya, gotta want to spend time in them for sure. Thanks for the input, enjoy it! 👍
👍🚘👍🚘
me gusta la troka
RAM has a way better interior.
It honestly doesn't look that bad... I just don't like the back end of the truck
Yes I do and that’s awesome! That’s a sweet car. I can’t wait to try one myself lol. Excellent choice, thanks for reporting back 👍
Good point Ahmad
ohh Ahmedd
The latest f150 is the laughing stock of the pack, its terrible at reliability. They sell the most because big companies buy them in fleet buys
That Dash is just too plain and looks oddly shaped. The truck they really went out there and played it safe inside. I see these and just think i would like one but cant get passed the interior being so bland.
Yeah that’s so true. It really surprised me when I first saw it.
I'm a Chevy guy but I think the Dodge Ram has a better interior
I agree
Its pretty much the same interior as the previous model
RIP chevy , truck is way behind Ford and Ram
UGLY.
Still a rip off no matter how nice it is. Also why did chevy not redo the interior?
I was surprised to see the interior too...they definitely didn’t get creative with that lol
just because its out of your price range does not mean its a rip off
This thing is HIDEOUS!!! The RAM is WAY BETTER!!!
Until it goes to the shop
The front bumper has to go, it's fugly👎🏻👎🏼👎🏽👎👎🏾👎🏿
This isn’t the off road high country so no you’re not fully loaded lol. I understand you chose the power roof, lane change package over the off road package but that was extremely stupid. Get the off road package with an optional power roof. I have lane change assist and I NeVeR use it, i would never give up off road for technology I would never use.
Dash looks horrible
Chevy uses cheap leather and the seats are not comfortable.
That's one ugly truck
Lol it’s been getting a lot of flack!
Horrible looking truck looks like a Honda truck
