  • This trip was all about sailing to a point 10 miles off the coast and spending the night out there hanging off a drogue. I looked at the weather forecast and tides very carefully before departing.

    I've just found this channel, I love small cruisers so much. Thanks for showing the capabilities of the Paradox.

    Almost everyone gets seasick for the first 24 to 36 hours.....it doesn't mean you are not cut out for ocean sailing. Enjoying your channel.

      Thanks Mark. Maybe one day I'll have another go, but it won't be in a Paradox. It will need to be in a larger boat, I can move about on.

    There is some good advice on Tom Cunliffe's channel ( Ton Cunliffe on sea Sickness 28/3/20 ). I also saw a tip about putting an earplug in one ear, I thought that was from Tom, but it is not mentioned on this vid. I have found the vid concerned: Sailing Britaly, How to prevent Seasickness, 10/9/16. I do hope this helps. Keep well.

    Put some ginger in hot water and sip throughout the day/night, it will help with sea sickness and avoid greasy and fatty food prior. Or take a fishing rod and utilise the Hurley.

    A little motor might be worth considering. Great for avoiding huge mobile ocean obstacles, and for making a bit of headway against currents and when in irons.

    Thanks for sharing. Interesting to see the different choices of rigging. Good luck with the sea sickness. Glad to see that it does not keep you from sailing.
    Cheers Morten from Denmark

    How long did it take you to build her? Did you use outdoor ply or marine ply?

    • @creditscorenz
      @creditscorenz  4 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      800 - 900 hours spread over 4 years. Marine ply. A Paradox is too much of an investment to skimp on materials.

      @@creditscorenz always amazed how many miss this point.
      The cost of the materials pale into insignificance beside the time and effort.
      Can you imagine having to build it over for the sake of poor materials... I've been there.
