Once upon a time, i did a torsional damper change on my C4. The clamshell hood made it nice to do that job because once the front wheels were off, I could stand in the wheel well and not have to bend over so far. The engine in the C4 was placed so that the damper bolt was just above the rack, and there was a loop in the power steering tube for damper puller access.
If I ever have to do that job on my C6, I'll take it to a shop.
Always a good idea to clean the whole engine compartment completely before you start 😮
Now the Corvette works as good as it looks. And on the plus side; that car will always be cool, so you'll never have to sell it...I couldn't even type that with a straight face...like you'd EVER sell it!
Yeah most of the cars have a price but this isn't one of them. I'd only sell it to buy my dad's 1961 Corvette back if I could find it again.
Wish you would have shown the wobble. GS are so nice.
Very good stuff. Good to know this process and whatnot.
Great job 👍 I saw something I like how you dealt will the steering section 💪 yes I'm thinking cam😂💯
The power steering rack does not have to be pulled out according to several other videos I’ve watched on this subject. To late now but check it out the next time.
That could be true but I have no idea how that would work, it runs about half inch from the front of the balancer. Might have to look at some other folks videos myself and see how they did it.
It’s actually fairly easy but you need two screw jack stands, one to support the motor and one to control the engine cradle. A 2.5 hour job, total time
I was wondering did you replace the crank seal?
If I had to guess you wouldn't do it this way again. Way harder than it needed to be.
Just wondering if you guys work on other peoples cars. And if so how much do you charge?
Seek Jesus! He’s the way! The truth! And the life! Repent for the Kingdom is at hand!
Agree 110%! Brian, do you know if this gentleman is a Christian?? If so, very cool!!
The front stripes dont look right??
That's because they're not.
8:07 thats the dirtiest corvette engine bay i have ever seen! Lol sorry guys! just busting ball! 😁
Haha we we drove it home from the Midwest and it's tough to keep the dust out over there
Hummer dually limo ?? Just a random thought .
I mean....how could I hate that idea 🤣
Awesome video! What year is your GS?
2010? I'm buying a 2013 this Friday!
@@FredFlintstone21That problem is mostly with the LS2
Why didn’t y’all just reuse the balancer bolt you pulled out of the crank?
your doing it way wrong you can do it by dropping the cradle from the bottom theres a video of a guy doing it in 2 hours you DONT HAVE TO PULL THE RACK i got mine in and out of a shop after showing them the video in about 2.5 hours
I saw that to when I do mine definitely will do that way less work jeesh
