Nissan 350z Window Seal/Weatherstripping replacement (A-pillar trim doesn't need to be removed)

Engine: 3.5L V6 (VQ35DE - Revup)
This is a full tutorial on how to replace the windowseals/weatherstripping on a 350z, 2003-2008. I'm posting this with the knowledge that there is no other video on TH-cam that has done this process, I hope it will benefit any of yall with the same problem!
My symptoms: Basically I had 1-2 inch deep water under both seats, the footwell carpet drenched aswell. 350z's with their whole frame-less window design are not the most "sealed" cars. They can leak from almost anywhere, I did a LOT of diagnosing before I narrowed it down to the window seals. It seems obvious, but when doing research almost non of the results online mentioned the window seal. There was a lot of results about clogged drains, but all of my drains were wide open, there was leaky windshield seals but there was no water coming in through those common leak places. I ended up just using a ton of towels for a while because I stopped trying to find the leak, but eventually I got some blue masking tape and ran it over the top of both of my doors, on the A-pillar, which acted as a watter gutter. What do you know, there was no water after a rather hard downpour! So I bought and installed these seals, I have yet to see if it worked, im gonna wait till the next rain, I'll write down in the comments
Misconceptions: As there was no other video on TH-cam, what I went off of was an A-pillar removal video. It was very useful for getting an idea on what I was dealing with, but I was not sure if the A-pillar had to be removed or not. Thankfully, after a bit of looking around, I found out that you don't have to removed the A-pillar. That is good because the pops that hold the panel on are very weak due to aging and many heat cycles, therefore they break quite easily.

You don't need to remove the rail or unscrew anything to do this. It is just sticks above where the rail is screwed in.. You just need to unseat the rubber seal from the rail and then pull it away from the car!
Also the clip on a pillar should be installed on the cover and then push them back instead of sliding in. This guy has no idea what he’s doing

I ended up scratching the plastic that has the residue. I used a blade to try to remove some of that glue. Hoping for the best.

my weather sealing is falling apart, 23 year old car in the desert doesnt seem to hold tight all the time. i get a bit of a drip from time to time so maybe this is my issue.

i have a issue with wind noise leaking into the cabin, did you have that too? i have also noticed water on the headliner and floor right next to the seals.

This is much appreciated. I heard of kids just popping em off and breaking the pillar trim. It wouldn't be a big deal if they were $25. They are out of print and are $350-$550 used. What garbage. I see Kia souls with missing a pillar trim too. Such a bitch.

Is this seal replacement the same for a 350Z roadster ( of course not the top side of the window, being that it retracts when you open the soft top) but, I'm referring to the pillar that the side mirrors are on?
Honestly. I'm not to sure about that on! I replaced my mirror seals though and water still gets through that part lol. Not nearly as bad though lol
I’m having the same kinda issue. Not necessarily a pool of water but the water is like leaking out of my passenger side speaker and I notice it every time I get in now. Not a lot but just little droplets coming out of the speaker holes. Which sucks, not sure if I’m gonna have to replace the speaker now or what. The weather stripping doesn’t look or feel too bad on that side which is weird, my driver side is like coming off so if anything you’d think it’d leak on that side. Not sure why the hell it’s coming out of my speakers though.

I have this same issue with my 2015 q60 smh and on the driver side water leaks in through where the break peddle is near the fuse box. Any idea on how fix that?
Have you checked the seals above where the petals are?
There are multiple spots where water comes from. Put a hose on your windshield and let the water run down in on the drive side. Look for water coming in in the petal area
