Great video, thanks man! I knew it would start right out. Back in about 1994 a guy that I knew had one of these sitting in his yard on flat, dry rotted tires. Finally one day I stopped over there I decided to ask him if he wanted to sell it. He said that it had been sitting in his yard for 8 years and he would be glad to sell it. He said give me $50 and it's yours. I couldn't get the money out of my wallet quick enough. LOL! I tinkered with a for a little bit and got it started on one cylinder. The tire shop (family business) that I managed at that time was right down the street so I rode it to the shop and locked it up. When I came in to work the next day I started cleaning it up, cleaning the tank, cleaning the carburetors and I installed new points and changed the oil of course. I found some old used dirt bike tires that we had laying around the shop that fit it so I put those on it with new tubes. It didn't take much at all and that thing ran like a sewing machine! I was surprised how fast it was for such an old bike! My brother has a 1986 Honda 250R that he bought brand new. He and I had some really good races! My old SL-350 was neck and neck with his 250R until I was topped out in fifth gear. Then he would shift into sixth gear and start pulling away slowly. I think he paid around $2800 for his 1986 250R so I was extremely proud of my $50 SL-350! That bike was so much fun and it was extremely comfortable to ride! Event when my best friend and I used to take it out almost every night and ride up and down the dry wash here in Tucson. Even with two of us it was comfortable, it was fast and it was fun! Best $50 I've ever spent! Thanks again for the cool video! You earned my sub!

@@BrokenWrenches It was an awesome bike, that's for sure! Yeah, I wish I had restored mine. I'll be watching for the other videos. Thanks again and best of luck with it!

That would be a great candidate for a restoration. its all there, except a set of pipes and side covers, both of which you can get repop very easily. I'm currently doing up a K2 just like it.

I'm watching through this now, You may have heard of a bloke my the name of Randy Marble. He specialises in Paint, but also sells a bunch of other stuff for these bikes, look him up. for years pipes for these bikes were unobtainium at any price point... , but as of recently a bloke in down in Victoria Australia has started making repops, they are around $900us a pair, but absolutely worth it, you can get them through randy marble, randy also sells side covers and cables etc. all the best with it, I've subscribed to your channel and hit the notification bell so im looking forward to seeing what you do with it.

Its a pretty cool bike, fairly rare as well. It’s probably the first one i restore on the channel.

You can still get all the parts on line and they sale the decals for the tank inside covers. You can order them online and just repaint the tank. You can order honda paint too and you can get the original seat covers and foam for seat as well

Just got 1969 K0 last week for 1k that's in a bit better shape but I need to go through the same steps with the carbs this week, mine has the electric start and is 65lb heavier. Fingers crossed, when I bought it starter fluid got it to fire.

Thats awesome!!! I wish mine had a starter, kick a hole in the bottom of your foot otherwise. Im fairly certain one of the carbs is flooding. Mine needs all of the common wear items like the clutch and a bunch of rusty cables replaced.
