You have done a beautiful job of bringing this bike back to its original condition ! When I was much younger I had a new one just like it with a couple of exceptions. Mine was RED and it had an electric starter. I still believe that it was the most beautiful cycle I had ever seen. I've owned many Hondas such as the 160 and the 305 (broke my leg on the 305). Later on I owned others but I kick myself often for selling the 350. What fantastic lines. Simply a work of art. I am in my 70's now and I would love to have another just to mount on a pedestal in my living room to admire.
I know what you mean, I’d like to have one of these on display in my house too. Thanks for sharing, I love hearing about these and the happiness they bring👍🏻
Way back in the day (73ish) I owned a 1970 SL350 in the same color as yours. It had a few differences. It had an electric start, the headlight mount was chrome, the mufflers had a small chrome skid plate mounted to them, and finally the front fender had a silver panted tubular mount on top of the fender. It really was a beautiful bike. A little heavy for full off road work though. I sold it and got a 250 Elsinore, now that was a true off road bike, but I always missed that SL350...
Forgot one thing, Honda has a recall on the gas cap. They replace that push button release with a slotted turn key release. You can use your key or any flat tip screw driver to open the gas cap with. Personally I preferred the push button set up...
Love that bike. Want one now as an around town commuter. My older brother had /has a cl 350 think a72. Love to see his face when I show up on this 😂. Nice to se it run ! I follow a guy who has these old bikes re birthed Kaplan America. 👍🇺🇸
Happy to discover your channel. I am currently restoring an SL175 K0. It will be followed by an SL350 K0. My 350 only has about 3500 miles on it. I had Randy Marble repaint the bodywork for both bikes. He does as good a job as you will find and the colors are very authentic. I also have a SL125. I just bought a US-made reproduction exhaust that is first-rate (equal to OEM).
I was born 1965 and grew up in the 70's with Honda SL and XL 100-125's, always yearned for one these SL 350's. I feel the exhausts aren't quite right, they should travel down below each foot peg and have chrome on each muffler . but Googles says both are correct - maybe K1 was different I'm shouting at my computer when you are messing with carbs and valve clearances - check the the points and timing, check the the points and timing with a multi meter - sounds like you got it worked out. :--) great old bike
Thanks for watching James. You’re right about the exhaust being different on the K1. You’re probably thinking of the K0, they had that chrome exhaust shield. And yes, the points/timing was off
Hi Lyle, I live in Australia and I’m certain I sent you a reply about your other SL350 ( the yellow one ), I also watched your video on the SL175, which was great as I had one myself back in 1973. However I must say that the blue SL350 that you are working on is in remarkedly good condition for its age! ( but now even better ) I really enjoyed watching all your video’s
@@lylesgarage Well, I didn't listen to my own advice! Bought a 1971 model, in really good shape, will be starting on restoring the few fault's it has! Guess I better start building up my right leg muscles, LOL's!
New subscriber! I love it! I had a 1972 CL350 Scrambler. I gave it to my son and he still owns it.
Awesome! Thanks and welcome to the channel Chris👍🏻

Thanks, for watching Alan. I really appreciate your feedback!
Beautiful
It was a nice bike back in the day - much more usable than the Yamaha Enduros.
Nice bike, you did a great job! Personally, I would have gotten the electric-start model. Guess I'm just lazy!
Thanks Charlie! 💪💪😁

Hey man what air filters did you end up going with
Uni brand foam filter👍🏻
Hi mate, can you tell me where you find spare parts on the internet for this model? Thx
The best place is cmsnl.com
They have the OEM parts
@@lylesgarage many thanks.
After you get finished with the restoration, do you sell them?
Eventually, after I’ve forgotten how much time I spent fixing ‘em
Where are you located?
