After watching this, I've realized that Maxine was given the best advice coming from a former Miss Universe and a judge herself, Sushmita Sen, that a candidate can use her own language to express herself with content... Maxine has what it takes to be the next Miss U, however because of trying to prove to the public that she can speak English well, her chances fall short. I hope this is good reminder to the Binibining Pilipinas future winners or in any other pageants representing our country that it is an honor to speak in the manner they are comfortable with. To Maxine, you gave a good fight. Kudos!

Because Dayanara stayed for another 5 yrs in the Phils after the pageant and became a celebrity. Kapamilya sya. She is one of the original hosts of ASAP together with Martin Nievera, Pops Fernandez & Ariel Rivera. She made movies & became Aga Muhlach’s leading lady & gf. She was also partnered with Cesar Montano in some movies. She also had her own dancing show EZ Dancing & drama anthology in Star Drama Theater Presents. She really became a superstar here during that time before returning to Puerto Rico.
