It's their first time to and they don't want to mess up and are a little bit paranoid and full of anxiety... It's okay, it's normal ... I love that liana made a routine schedule! I do this and everyone calls me crazy and helicopter parent and everyone’s like oh I’ve this many kids I got this. BUT what people need to understand is that many grandparents have had their kids at least 20 years ago. Things have changed over time. New studies. New safety measures etc. each baby drinks different amounts of formula or milk so they need to know how much to feed so they’re not over or under fed. Also each baby has their own routine. You don’t want to piss off the baby or throw them off schedule so the routine paperwork is for the baby rather than the caregiver! More people need to understand this! For those mamas who do this don’t let anyone make you feel like you’re “too much”
My mother in law said I wouldn't be able to keep a schedule for sleeping & I mastered it by 6 months & she takes a nap & goes to bed at around the same time every day & she is almost 3! I wanted to say I told you so sooo badly.

All babies and kids are different and things have to be tweaked and mastered! I get called a helicopter parent so much by my in laws side and I’m just like no. I’m making sure they’re getting the best care and that that same care is given when I’m not around so they don’t get hurt or turn into a holes lol

I guess she did that because they lived in Ukraine and I lived in Italy so meeting one another wasn't easy. What's funny is that I would make my mom hate that decision. I would start to cry and get fussy if I wasn't in her arms at all times. I remember my mom told me I was once my great grandma's arms and started to cry and I think I even peed on myself/her. And she was crying herself saying things like: "What did I do wrong? Why doesn't she love me? Why is she so upset about me?" turns out I was just a momma's girl. And had medical issues so maybe that's why.

This is so sweet. Give it a few years and the grand parents will still be over joyed to babysit and you will both be so excited to get a break. My little girl is 14 months old and the first time she stayed out was when she was 10 months old (by choice) so we could attend a family birthday party at a club so Mammy and daddy could drink but we were the same laying the ground rules and my folks were like, “we have done this 3 times before!” Lol but it doesn’t make it any easier and plus it makes us feel better when we know we’ve asked they respect our wishes to look after our baby. The first time my parents left me I got oil paint and covered the walls, carpet, bed, TV and everything else including all the furniture so if that doesn't happen then consider it a success Ps. You guys are great parents and really inspirational
