Chocolate, zucchini, tomatoes, chicle,chili, corn, corn tortillas and parole all come from Mexico and much more......sopapillas originated in Sonora, Mexico and New Mexico. I love sopapillas my grandmother grew up in New Mexico and she'd fry the un cooked flour dough in hot oil. They were delicious with refried beans. Cheese and homemade salsa.

Tamales are way older than 200 years old. The indigenous people of Mexico and Central America ate them. Who knows how far back they go. But most people love them.

This is why I believe the "the US has no official language" argument is invalid (don't get me wrong-anyone can speak whatever language they want) because Spanish is not the official language of either Mexico or Argentina, yet we still think of them as Spanish-speaking countries.

I have been fortunate to visit the smallest volcano Cuexcomate in Mexico in Puebla. It is right in the the City, but not in one of the more common neighborhoods. It is neat to go down into the crater and see the river it is all lit up with electricity down inside.
Cacao comes from Mexico, chocolate as we know it comes from Europe.

So please stop this . That's why everyone think everyone who speak Spanish is Mexican. Mesoamerica comprises the modern day countries of northern Costa Rica, Nicaragua, Honduras, El Salvador, Guatemala, Belize, and central to southern Mexico. So not even origin to all Mexico just central and South. I don't have nothing against Mexican just would like if Mexican also gave Centro America credit for stuff instead of making it like is only Mexico. Don't misinform. You know you looked up the facts yet don't include everyone else . That's messed up.
And Is not just chocolate a lot of other things too. Give credit to every country that belong to that nation or region at the time you place it .

I am curious as to where the information that Spanish is not the official language came from... If I am not wrong, according to the INEGI in Mexico, Mexico has 69 official languages, Spanish being one of them 🤔
