This Is literally going to suffocate the Prospects of about 100 PDC Tour card holders who were already feeling the strain of Mid Week pro tours. Clearly MR Porter only knows about 24 Players in the PDC currently.
If you ask current and ex pdc card holders who aren’t or were not the elite they’ll all tell you the pdc only ever focus on the elite it’s all there really bothered about
Please Matt have a think about this. You want darts to grow long term? You have to involve more players. How will you find the next Luke Littler or Josh Rock? This decision is harmful to every tour card holder outside the top 32. When the top 32 already had very generous benefits to begin with. You say you want a professional organisation with players being full time. This decision takes money out of players pockets who are trying to go full time, and it puts the money in players pockets who are already able to make a comfortable living off darts anyway. Just consider the impact of these changes especially regarding international players. Due to geography international players, especially Asian, American, Oceanian players are structurally at a huge disadvantage in darts. This decision just alienates them further. Why would someone from the US or Japan move to Europe and pursue a professional career when their basic earning is not guaranteed? Many players think they are better off without a tour card nowadays because they have more events to play in and are not restricted to 30 PC events and 13 Euro Tours a year. And you are restricting them even further because they are not going to qualify for most of the ETs.
He’s clueless in terms of running a sport. Entertainment-wise he’s faultless but the decisions he’s making could be harmful for many players’ careers. There’s 128 fantastic players on tour but he only cares about the top 32.
Luke Littler went from 164th in the world to almost top 10 in the world if he'd won this final. Surely he is not the player who will struggle to get into the top 16 even with this new rule introduced... it will take something big to get into the top 16 which makes it more exciting. Fair or not. At the end of the day it's about entertainment. No dart player with serious ambitions is going to stop playing because of this rule. And if someone does, well, he would not have been you're new Luke littler or Josh rock anyway. And once you're in the top 16, you'll be happy about this new change. The system makes sense.
@@Ruffaloo The top 16 already had countless benefits. They pretty much get in every major event. This decision just widens the gap between the top 16/32 and the rest. Which is simply not good for the growth of the game. And it's not just about this one decision. Also putting all the Pro Tours midweek, again this is something that hurts amateur and semi-pro players, but not the top 32 who are full time players. You need a steady conveyor belt and support systems to keep finding the next generation of talents. Many players with potential are getting shafted by these decisions, even if they don't stop playing altogether the PDC just puts obstacles in front of most of the players. Entertainment wise, well they might sell some more tickets for Euro Tours but the events will become more stale with pretty much the same lineup all the time. And it's going to be the same 32 players at the European Championship, World Matchplay, World Grand Prix, with maybe a couple different faces. This might help the PDC maximise their ticket revenue short term, but it's definitely not something that helps long term growth. Entertainment is important but it can't be the only aspect. With decision the PDC lose more on the sporting side than what they gain on the entertainment side.
What does Dobey need to do? This guy thinks that a 60yr old man dressed like a clown is box office. You've got to think of the tournament and pick the form players. If you want to go on past reputation and achievements, then pick RVB. Dobey has been underappreciated here, they got this very wrong.
Off that logic of what’s been won …. Ross smith, danny noppert, Andrew gilding all major winners who were not picked for the prem , Paul Nicholson wasn’t even picked and at the time he was box office ideal for the prem
What form was Dobey in? He didn’t win anything after the masters? Didnt even reach a final? So what is this form you’re speaking about??? Form to keep losing in quarter finals?
Every time this guy is in front of a camera it gets worse. Darts has been coasting for years and it’s been saved by Littler. Some of the recent decisions around pro tour and now euro tour are a joke, and everyone gets bored of the PL year on year. Bring back the original league format with 10 players, relegate 2 on Judgement Night week 9, then do the KO format for another 7 weeks. It won’t go stale then. But what do I know, I’m just a keyboard warrior 🤷♂️
Coasting for years? Saved by Littler? That’s absolutely ludicrous and you’re clearly just trying to discredit the sport as a whole just because you don’t agree with a certain decision that’s pretty pathetic
WGP Ireland. Couldn't either Belfast or Dublin Premier League venues be used? Maybe a different configuration if PL config is too large for WGP? Or take WGP to Germany and rotate where the Euro Champs final is held (Germany, Holland, other emerging Euro markets)?

Not enough tuff questions, Q-school? system? money in for PDC from Q-school? (a lot btw), shouldnt PDC give new PDC-players prizemoney (outside the ranking) so they have a budget before starting in the PDC? Now i think the first they get is a bill to pay. Are they pro´s then?
