    Well Keith I'd say you got real lucky getting those nuts and bolts out the way the caliper looked, never seen a piston puller like that before, I use air and blow them with a small block of wood to catch it on, one last thing, maybe I missed it but I would imagine that is a special liquid you use in your cleaning tank. It looks like it took off that powder coat pretty good. I for video.
    Thanks Jack

    Good to see the 650 coming together, I had the sr variant back in late 80's, just a thought when you using the ultrasonic bath why not thread a wire through the basket and suspend nuts and washers on....just an idea for you mate👍

      Hello Les, not to bad, i use Wemoto.com for the pattern parts they have a really good selection, also use Z-power and for OEM parts Fowlers in Bristol and CMSNL in Holland, some parts are now becoming discontinued so i hunt around on Ebay

    Super helpful video, thank you! Is there any other way to get the piston out? Or do you have to buy that kit?

    • @TheAmateurBikeBuilder
      @TheAmateurBikeBuilder  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks, appreciate your comment, if the caliper is still connected to the brake line, you can pump out the piston, another way is using an airline, i have not tried it, but be careful if you do

      @@TheAmateurBikeBuilder I ordered the tool but it seems pretty stuck, I may have to connect to brake line too. Thanks for the tip. Also, it looks like your brake pad just came right out @10:57, but mine is stuck in the mount. Any thoughts on that?

      @@joshuaplank883 took some wiggling but should come out, try spraying some brake cleaner, see if that helps, but replace the pads after with new ones

      @@TheAmateurBikeBuilder there was a bunch of corrosion inside the caliper where the piston sits and where the gaskets were...do you know what would work on that and wouldn't damage the metal?
