These look so good and easy. I'm thinking of using broken up pretzels instead of peanuts. You are right, there are lot of variations. I prefer milk chocolate too.
Yes, these are delicious; I’ve been making these or a version of these for the last 20 years. I think the almond bark is the key, then vary the nuts and chocolates. One little thing I do is when I get to the bottom of the mixture in the crockpot and little or no peanuts or left, dump a few walnuts or pecans in and stir them up in the remaining chocolate. Cook’s treat.
I use chocolate chips, butterscotch chips and Reece peanut butter chips. So good. Any combination works. Such a fool proof treat to make!! Love, love the little one’s voice in the background!!!
My family has made a variation of this candy for many years. My mom's recipe uses white chocolate, Bakers German chocolate, peanuts, and LaChoy crispy chow mein noodles!! I'm here to tell you the crispy noodles take it to the next level.
I'm also team milk chocolate! 😬 I use butterscotch chips with semi-sweet chips when I make fudge because the butterscotch cuts the bitterness, so I'm wondering if you could substitute butterscotch chips instead of the almond bark? 🤔 Thank you for sharing! ❤ *Love* the mani!! 🎄
I've made crock pot candy every Christmas since I first found the recipe many years ago. Like you said it's so nice to let the crock pot do the melting so you can make cookies etc while it does that. It's so easy and makes a ton so it's great for gift giving. My recipe is a little different, it's 32 oz. peanuts, 12 oz. semi sweet chocolate chips, 4 oz bar German Chocolate (found in baking isle) and 32 oz white almond bark. But this year I'm trying a different version that I got in email. it's the 32 oz of peanuts, 12 oz of semi sweet chips, 12 oz of milk choc. chips, and 20 oz of peanut butter chips, 2 lb. of white almond bark. I'm really curious to see how yours goes if you do get time to try making them into turtles. Please let us all know how that turns out , I love turtles.
If you let the chocolate cool a little you can add mini marshmallows instead of nuts. So delicious! They can be eaten like candy or used as a hot chocolate topper.
You could cool fried eggs as long as I can listen to that baby chatter in the background I would listen. That just makes my heart happy.
@@sueroot3178 he is the biggest sweetheart and he is “talking” constantly now, I love it!
Thanks Joan, they look good. I made these years ago for a group of my quilting friends for a christmas party and they were a big hit.

I love the precious baby sounds! I wish Noah was not allergic to peanuts! I would so love these!
Make it with chopped pretzels!
I made the hot chocolate cookies and they are delicious.
They are Adam’s new favorite!

I just learned about this recipe this week!!! I saw the new one you are referring to-let me know how it goes! I may try the turtle combo for Easter
I have made that before and we call it Christmas Crack …for obvious reasons!🤣
Oh yeah!
If you are taking these to a party, the cups might be more sanitary.
Yes! 100%. The cups are the way to go
They look really good. I just don’t like nuts in my candy.😊
😳 nuts are my favorite!! How’s the cookie baking going?
