ETFs are quickly becoming the most popular investment vehicle for passive income investors. So what are ETFs? How do they compare to Mutual funds and what are the different types of ETFs?
Whats up guys….by the end of this video, you will be an expert when it comes to ETFs.
Let's start with the basics… ETF stands for Exchange Traded Fund. The easiest way to understand the term is to define it backwards.
So an ETF is a fund (which can hold multiple investments like stocks and bonds) that's traded everyday on an exchange, which is the stock market. whether it’s on a Canadian exchange (TSX) or a U.S. exchange (NYSE). Also, since it's a fund, it needs a fund manager, so every ETF has a manager, whether it's a Bank or another financial institution, like a wealth management company

Does one have to pay both the "management fee" and the "management expense ration"? In the BMO ETFs for example, a percentage is listed for each of these. Is it the two combined? I always thought it was just the 'management expense ratio" if you are buying them yourself, but I heard you mention the "management fee" of couple of times in this video as if it is the only expense. Can you please clarify? thanks.
