Hi there! In a previous video, you mentioned that in May you would share how to get a refund for the 25% withheld for ROC. Have you published that video yet? If not, when can we expect it? Thanks!
@@johnlennon8931 I am not sure that is true. Questrade makes the deductions and sends to CRA. It is only logical he would have to get it back from CRA, right?
I don't understand your logic of saying your original principal amount doesn't matter or you don't care and you only care about the yields of these funds. To me, it matters A LOT, because when you see your original principal shrink by a significant amount, your yields would be affected by the performances of these funds, and your monthly income will also be affected ultimately affecting your lifestyle.
you will understand it if you own these funds or understand how they work. did you see how QQQY made me a 24k investment return? the return is all that matters (your investment) everything else is a distraction
What happens when your yields are decreasing? This usually happens when your principal is losing a lot of its value, the fund managers will usually look at that and decides to lower the yields. In a bear market, not many call options are there to generate you a lot of premiums, so it makes sense for them to lower the yields. So to me, it matters massively what your principal is, in other words your book cost matters a lot.
I know nothing about dividend investing. Your video here is too high level for me. But, I am a commodities investor for 4 years now. Do you have any videos or can you suggest any videos where I could learn the basics of dividend investing? Do you have any suggestions of one good dividend earning vehicle that I could watch for a while. Of course, I'll take into account current volatility. Thank you!
Hey Adrian! I have a question about HPYT. I bought your excel sheet and in many of the portfolios HPYT is there. Is it a good time to buy the % amount listed in your excel for sale on your website or no? When was this excel last updated? I couldn’t find that info. With interest rates changing I’m unsure. Will HPYT perform better or worse as they lower interest rates?
I’m surprised you moved into a house as you had mentioned you locked in the rent for like several years plus you had a gym & amazing views at the condo .. Be cool for you to do a video on your house & what made you guys chose that instead :) As usual, congratulations on your amazing portfolio 🙌🏼
Hi, just came across your video. First off, great video. My question is YMAX. How come their website says 30-Day SEC Yield**: 62.89% but if you do the math for $1000 invested is not equal to 62.89% payout as they claim; it's actually .65 cents per share which is not the percentage they're saying. Please explain.
I am really new and some of the terms used I am still getting used too. I recently learned and used the norbert gambit process. As dumb as it may be, here's the question. When you say "swap", is this process or procedure or are you just selling one etf and then buying another etf?
Hi Adrian, Quick question regarding BTCY.B it not hedged ? Do you mean it’s not hedged to Canadian dollars so are you paying U.S dollars to buy BTCY.B. So if I live in Canada and have this in my TFSA I should buy the z Canadian hedged BTCY ?
I’m a sparky by trade only 23 and the next 5 years I’m going to throw at least $1500 a week between VooG, QQQ and QDTE. Going to risk it all, might not pay off but I’ve run the numbers and I’m 100% sure it’s worth the risk
Hi Adrian :) I’m curious, couldn’t you sell something in your registered account, and sell RS in your non registered, and buy RS in your registered with the money? Then buy whatever you sold again in your non registered that’s more tax efficient. Since you have always said you want to keep real estate in your portfolio I’m surprised your preparing to sell RS for good some day but I get the tax issue.
Could you have a comparison video of RS vs. RMAX. Thinking about switching. RS dividend payout date is about 7 days different from the rest of my funds. Plus explain how the etf version is different from the split fund.
Apparently, as explained in another video, real estate investments are the exception; he is not rebated the withholding tax on capital gains. But in this video he seems to include energy investments too. I don't think he ever mentioned that before.
@@PassiveIncomeInvesting I’m assuming the bottom line basically is even with the erosion of the NAV and reverse stock splits you end up making more than you’ll lose at the end of the day dripping everything back into the holding
Thanks Adrian for another Portfolio Unveiled video! Like you said that you are running out of things to sell and the portfolio is already pretty optimal. I guess there is only one left thing to do which is continue to add and reinvest that dividend.
