Sonic boom over water will travel a LONG distance. It won't break windows like it was local, but it will still be loud and carry.

The first rumble... not sure. The pop pop sounded like a rifle.
After a week of looking around it seems like it was a sonic boom, it was a lot louder in person than in this video.
