Human External Cargo (HEC) training - Slave Lake Forest Area

It’s a bird, It’s a plane…What the “HEC” is that?
On April 26 and 27, Wildland Firefighters participated in Human External Cargo (HEC) training in the Slave Lake Forest Area. Using specialized equipment firefighters can be transported on a long line under a helicopter. We will be testing this new system with two of our crews this wildfire season.

To think that Alberta cut the Rappel Program in favour of hanging people on a long line is mind-blowing.
