That conclusion is the BEST I've heard ..and applies to almost every signal path change. The entire system needs to be up to the task or the small changes are barely making a difference. Nice analysis.
Great video. Always enjoy hearing your insights. Did you happen to test out bypassing the internal DAC for hi-rez using a digital out and into a digital input on the avm90 preamp?
I have experimented with that a little, but not enough to form an opinion. I've been so busy lately, I really need to prioritize my time in the listening room. I do want to do a comparison on that in the future.
What!!! What about tonewinner?!!! 😂😂😂 just messing around as we all see the comments in other posts and figured "I'd give you the business!" 😂😂😂 great review as always.
This Review comes to the right time. Since 2 weeks i got my mrx 740 and i Look for this streamer. Main Reason i want to stream tidal(tidal connect)directly from App.
I'm a AVM90 owner and im also looking at the Eversolo. Can you let us know how you were streaming music to the AVM90? I'm curious if you were using Chromecast. That would make a huge difference in sound quality if you were using Tidal connect on the eversolo and Chromecast on the 90.
I was using the Tidal app in the Eversolo streamer and I was using the Tidal app on my phone & Chromecast on the AVM90. That being said, they were both playing the files at the same bitrate, quality and of course were level matched. The point of the video is to show the quality of streaming capable with the processor, versus the quality of streaming with the streamer. So I of course have to use the streaming options available on the AVM90. Point proven, the streamer is capable of better quality, but even so, I kept the bitrates and file quality the same.
@@SpecOfTech Thanks for clarifying... awesome overview and video. I'm currently using an IFI Zen Stream and using the AVM90 as the DAC. It sounds great but I'm still very curious how it sounds vs the Eversolo. If you ever get your hands on a Zen Stream, I would love to hear your HiRes music comparison.
You could hear the difference Gentleman demo with the vocals - I'd give the edge to the DMP-A6 overall however with just music and no vocals it was much tougher to tell the difference. After some further listening I'd still give the edge to the DMP-A6.
Nice review. I would have gone this route, if they offered a DAC free version. Went with a Lumin U2 Mini, which has been enjoyably bug-free and only a small learning curve.
They've brought out the A8 also. Yeah a lot of people would use digital out, so why include expensive analogue section? Offer two models, transport and analogue models. I'd use the analogue in the hifi but in the AV system I'd use digital out.
This was the best review available on TH-cam, hands down! I was thinking about using my Fiio M17 (2x ES9038PRO) as an external DAC via Coax output, do you think it would upgrade the sound quality rather than plugging the Eversolo to the amp? thanks dude!
Thanks brother, I appreciate the compliment. I imagine you would experience better sound when using the M17 as the DAC because the ES9038 Pro DAC is a better chip than the 9038M2Q in the Eversolo.
To there was not a whole lot of diff more bass on the solo if anything, I fully intend to buy the Solo master edition, it very similar to the Hi Fi rose but for a quarter of the price, thanks for confirming what a expected, thank you for your work.
Great review! I have seen dozens of reviews on the A6. Thank you for focusing on the sound quality. Comparing it to he AVM90 says a lot about the A6. I am seriously considering getting a Eversolo in place of my Nuprime Stream9. Firstly, the Nuprime App seems like Fred Flintstone created it compared to the A6, then there are the esthetics, and the sound quality. I struggle with your reviews because it makes me want to get new gear!! lol....well done!
The Stream 9 does sound fantastic, but the app on the A6 is more polished. I know I'm a bad influence lol, but you should try the Eversolo. I wonder which would sound better, the Stream 9 or DMP-A6...?
I recently picked up the DMP A6 Master Edition....and yesterday I installed an on-board linear power supply. Just go ahead & buy the thang, sir. I'm in love.
I use it for exactly that, bypassing my processor for 2 channel. I did a video about it, here is the link: th-cam.com/video/rDOk-FP8Apk/w-d-xo.htmlsi=MHipjZX4bnBxgK0h
I have a Bluesound Node X. It sounded better than my Anthem AVM70, but not quite as good as my AVM90. I was thinking about trying the Eversolo, but all the review's said it is very clinical sounding, as opposed to the warmer Node X. I now have the Marantz CD50n cd player/streamer and it betters the Node X and AVM90. Deeper and more precise soundstage and imaging. I will say I like the Bluesound app much better than the HEOS that you have to use with the Marantz. I'm using ATI Signature amplification with Perlisten R7t speakers.
@@stckyjoey1yeah the AVR 10 built in streamer is not great. The one built into the Audiocontrol M5 is so much better. That’s what I’m using now. Picked it up for $500 and I went from the anthem mrx740 to the Arcam AVR10 to now this M5 and although it’s a bit outdated, it puts all the others to shame. Oh I also tried a marantz and music sounded pretty good on that too but not as good as m5 on movies
Hey, hope your doing good. Off topic question, you made a comment about Paradigm releasing an on wall or surround Founder series speaker awhile back, do you have any updates on that? Is it still happening?
Hey buddy, I'm doing great, thanks. I hope all is well with you and yours. The last I heard is that a Paradigm dealer asked Paradigm for an on-wall type side surround for the Founder series. I was told Paradigm liked their suggestion and said they would work on it. That is the last I heard about it. Sorry, I don't have anything other than that.
@SpecOfTech sounds great, tell them you can test a pair of surrounds out for them 😉 I'm gonna use my studio 60 v5 towers in the meantime until they release those. 100f and 90c fronts, gonna add in ceilings and a pair of rythmik f18s for the living room. My theater room is going to be a whole different level than that setup if I ever finish it lol. 🍻
I would connect it using analog RCA cables, then set your Denon to Pure Direct. That is assuming you want to use the DAC in the Eversolo and not the DAC in the Denon.

Hey . I just bought the headphones The Composer Austrian Audio . And Will get as Well the austrian audio amp . As a DAC for this combination , do the Eversolo dmp a6 master edition do a good job ? Thank you
Yes the DMP A6 would do a great job. There are better options for DACs, but as an all in one unit, the DMP A6 offers exceptional value and stellar audio quality.
Quite disappointing that it doesn't have HDMI eARC or even subwoofer output. Especially for the price. I did listen to this side-by-side to the Bluesound Node X (which has waaay more funtionality) and I couldn't really hear any difference in audio quality what so ever. And considering the only better thing the Eversolo has going for it: the screen, I just went for the much better and cheaper Bluesound Node X.
I use mrx 740 + iotavx pa 7 230 which ist the best way to go? From the dmp-a6 xlr outs to the xlr input of the iotavx? Or the rca out from the dmp-a6 in to the rca in from the anthem? Greez from switzerland!!!
That depends if you want to incorporate your subs or not, unless your subs are connected using high level inputs. It also depends if you want to use the Eversolo Dac or the Anthem Dac. For pure 2 channel setup, connect the XLR out from the Anthem to the XLR on the dmp-a6. If you do it that way, and you have subs, you will need to connect them using high level inputs. I hope that helps.

Is it possible ? DMP a6 to equalizer and equalizer to amp...?
I could barely hear the slightest difference in the highs listening in some decent headphones over YT. Separation was not very clear if at all present in my experience. I'm surprised to hear a paradigm described warm. I always thought they were more neutral then warm 🤷♂️.
Yeah it's tough for hifi to transfer over to YT. In person the differences are always more noticeable. In the past I think a lot of the Paradigm line up was voiced neutral, but not all. I read that the Paradigm Founders were going back to how some of the speakers were voiced when the original founders of the company owned it. After one of the founders bought the company back somewhat recently he wanted to pay tribute to that, hence the voicing and moniker of Founder with this line of speakers. In my quick search I didn't find any measurements for the 40B. But if you look at the measurements for the 100F and 120H, you''ll see a bump starting at about 220hz and below. That is exactly where the vocals will be. Part of the frequency range of a lot of instruments will fall in there as well. The bump in that frequency range translates to warmth.
hard to explain, theyre mostly at same level as shown by scores, but different in experience as shown by chart they all great sounding nonetheless, even the lowest
Haha, I will be, sorry it's taking so long. My out of town work schedule this year is making YT difficult. I haven't been able to put out nearly as many videos as I intended.
The weakness of the avm90 is its streaming. I think you went about this completely wrong. If you purchased a dedicated streamer only, and connected to the avm90, as opposed to using the a6 as dac The end result would be a sound that is better than either that we heard in the comparison Dacs going into preamps always sound better than dacs going straight to power amp. And this is at any price point. And as a pre & dac, the avm90 is actually very good Had you simply bought a really good streamer like the lumin u2 mini (could of bought used for same price as the a6 new), and connected this via coax bnc -> rca in on the avm90 The end sound would be much better than the avm90 or a6 on their own
Cool suggestion, but that wasn't the purpose of this video. The purpose of this video was to show the stand alone streaming capabilities of each unit, and which sounded better. I agree the AVM90 is very good, that's exactly why it's my favorite processor for music.

It's tough to say, because I've never heard music the way you have it set up. I would venture a guess, that yes it would more than likely sound noticeably better using the Eversolo.
@@SpecOfTech I bought the A6 Master Ed , it’s miles ahead of my IPhone - dynamics , resolution , musicality/timing , noise floor , clarity , nuance , etc . Very happy with the upgrade , thks for your opinion.
Not even close, the a6 DAC is similar to the bluesound node but slightly better but I wouldn't use either as a DAC myself. They are better used as a streamer running optical or coaxial into a DAC like the chord qutest or right into your reciever or integrated amp.
Sorry to say, but you miss the review by a mile. The A6/A6ME suffer from a highs issue at about 2KHz, you ignore. On top, they share a PS that has at least 4-5 replacement sources, really needed. The sound from your compare is not reflecting any quality or differences. It might be the speakers, or the Mic. Any way it's worthless. None of the A6ME upgrades make a change, as it use the same defected ESS DAC and PS. Eversolo tried to save the day, with Op. Amps and clock, to use the same board, with components that have the same foot print. That's why they had to do the A8.
You're right, I misspoke there. I meant to say balanced and unbalanced analog outputs. Sorry I didnt catch that in editing. These 15 hour work days take their toll I suppose.
I have good ears and I will tell you that the music you played sounded flat. I don't know if it's the DAC or your speakers, but I do believe you need a equalizer to bump up the highs. A software equalizer would be perfect if the device has an app and controlled either by phone or computer. Also I looked up for the Master version and can't seem to find it for sale anywhere.
I'm new to streamers,...daughter showed me Spotify,it's awesome...can play any music I can think of now. so ,do I need this streamer,I currently have arcam avr receiver...I use Huawei pnone to stream Spotify to the arcam ,..so far,it sounds amazing ,...so question ,do I need this eversolo thingy 🤔
All you need is an Apple TV 4K running Apple Music. All that money for this and you get BT 5 and aptX? No thanks. Never understood streamers. I already have five different was to do all of this.
If you are buying this streamer, there is a VERY good chance you won't be using bluetooth to stream your music ;). Not all ways of streaming are created equal. For example the Eversolo is capable of higher bitrates over the AVM90, along with other methods of streaming. It's all about getting the highest resolution you can, if that isn't important to you, then standard ways of streaming will be just fine. Thanks for watching.
Streamers are for people who don't want to turn on a Smart TV. Even Home Theater receivers are used as streamers and you only need a cellphone to control.
@@gingerpoppins1429 They're also for those that want the highest bitrate & quality of signal. Unfortunately, a smart TV and most receivers will not provide full bandwidth on hifi music.
I've heard good things about the Wiim as well. It is a more simplistic take on the music streamer. Eversolo went with the, does it all, approach. Both are great units.
Used chromecast to sent music to AVM 90. This is a Chromecast vs Solo... not a comparison with AVM 90. DELETE this video from TH-cam -- it damages toyr reputation.
That was literally the whole point of the comparison. Can you get subjectively better sound by using a streamer over streaming using only the AVM90. How else would I stream music with the AVM90 without using Chromecast? If I use the streamer to connect to the AVM90, I'm no longer using the AVM90 to stream, now am I? You misunderstood the purpose of the comparison, it happens, all good.
Dude! This thing is awesome!! I didn’t even know these existed! You just opened my eyes to a whole new option for streaming. Thank you!!

Thx for the reason to spend more money that I don't have......thanks alot:( Say, that's a big unopened box next to you.....hmmmm
Lol sorry, I know I'm a bad influence. That big box is the Arendal 1723 2V subwoofer, I can't wait to check it out.
@@SpecOfTech Thought so, I look forward to your thoughts on it and how it compares to MADE IN CANADA?
I'm new to streamers,...daughter showed me Spotify,it's awesome...can play any music I can think of now.
so ,do I need this streamer,I currently have arcam avr receiver...I use Huawei pnone to stream Spotify to the arcam ,..so far,it sounds amazing ,...so question ,do I need this eversolo thingy 🤔
Of course it has to sound better 😅it’s more money 💰 😅
Not really any difference. Maybe the Eversolo was a little warmer maybe haha
I don't blame ya, It's tough to hear differences over recorded audio that's compressed on TH-cam lol.
Yes it is
If you use only streamer side, just get Wiim pro and save money. Wiim pro with external LPS sounds as good as A6. DAC in A6 is not that great anyway.
I've heard good things about the Wiim as well. It is a more simplistic take on the music streamer. Eversolo went with the, does it all, approach. Both are great units.
You have heard both the pro and the A6?
zero difference
You're kinda militant. It's stereos bro.
Stop breathing into the mic!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
No! Stop telling people what to do lol.
