He worked with every orchestra in every state and he is been prolific since the 50’s. It’s a pure joy to see him still humble and down to earth.

Saw this talented bastard on Sesame Street as a very young boy. The memory of his almost cartoonishly high level of skill with his chosen instrument has never left me.
I was just thinking of the same thing! :) I don't remember how old I was when I saw it, just that I was very little (I also don't know if I saw it as a rerun). My parents knew who he was and liked him before he did that appearance, so they were thrilled when I would get excited about seeing him on tv every time after that.

This is also a lesson in coping with JEALOUSY! Itzhak Perlman comes out in a wheel chair. He could have been siting down , to begin with. I think he did this to show us his disability, to inspire us. While we’re privileged to have a great artist perform for us, I can’t help wondering that this guest appearance was pushed onto the late show by special interests. Something unnatural about the whole thing. Not that it’s wrong but something felt forced
