In my opinion Itzhak Perlman is the greatest violinist of this and the last Century. Surpassing even Yehudi Menuhin in subtle, passionate, emotive style and impeccable technical skill. His interpretation of the score for the film, 'Schindler's List' still brings tears to my eyes every time I hear him play. Also deeply impressive was Jon Batiste's performance who, without sheet music, played the difficult role of supporting but not overpowering the gentle nuances of Perlman's phrasing.
