Hey Steve. The comparison of two CAD softwares is really cool. These videos are really helpful. Im a NX user. Recently switched to CATIA. Can you make a basic video of how to unsew and remove a face from a surface in CATIA.(This command is there in NX where one can unsew a particular face and also hide that face).
@@autarch62 he is not speaking of any particular application. if you want wiring, harness, or any mechanical /elecrtical application check NX routing tools. much faster method than anything i've seen in other cad systems
you will truly understand the power of NX when you create 3D model of car's gearbox component from 2D drawing (drawing size 2A) or another complex model in car industries but easily to modified , the history column of the left side maybe long, but very detail and easy to control the model when you make change with it...
Correct. Spline is a very powerful tool and a single segment 2 point spline gives us a line. One reason I use lines though is that the bends all have a point at the theoretical. That point has parameters that can be adjusted in the part navi. Even with spline I would still use those points. So dynamic update wont really come in to play.
The way NX does the tube is quite nice BUT - again and as always - you have to learn it by heart, you won't find it left to your own devices. It's anti-intuitive. This one is a typical example of that shortcoming of NX. CATIA polyline is understandable without reading long manuals, without special training. Just look at the icons, if you got spatial visualization ability and if you know how computer programs typically work, you'll get the job done.
hi, i'm unable to use revolve command for a design in ''wireframe and surface design'', problem is that, the tools are faded and i'm unable to select them. please help
copy that, Sir. how can i fix the same problem with DMU Kinematics sir ? its tools are faded and i cant select them.same software is working good on my sister's laptop but not on mine..while mine is more advance.
awesome and well detailed video. Very useful for a catia user like me who wants to learn NX ... thanks.
Nice explanation

Well, in CATIA unsew does not currently exist. I use a work around. I will show it to you soon.
whu change cad software nx to catia
Which tool handles making Tubes better?
Absolutely CATIA tubing & piping design!
Both tools are great. Hard to make a judgement
@@ClassASurfacing I don't think so for industrial, aerospace, automotive design.

Even if the parts have no history you can still make those big changes. Amazing stuff.
how to make cut like a sine wave in bent tube
You have polyline in NX too
Little shortcut in NX would be using spline instead of point and line's so you can control your tube in dynamic update mode.
Cheers!

Try going to Start>Shape>Generative Shape Design.
yes, that thing is working, but please help me in fixing the problem with wireframe and surface design ,
If you have GSD you do not need it in Wire-frame and Surface.
Wire-frame is the lesser license than GSD so just use the GSD.

they are both good but.
solidworks is the best
Catia and NX are high end CAD software, solidworks not.
