The government is blocking StarLink because it would kill it's cash-cow, Telkom satellite service, which is 7x the price and doesn't perform as well. The question we should be asking is what is more important - profits for SOE's or education for rural learners.

I really want Starlink. I live in the middle of nowhere in Northern Cape with little to nothing connectivity.
I get 220 Mbps in NZ! And a ping of about 20ms and costs $159 NZD, I got it because I live rural and work from home.
