      Thanks for sharing Sarah :)
      I bet it was a lot less trash down there than now. Sad a lot of Mississippians like to get drunk and throw/smash their beer bottles and cans there now. :(

    The bluff was not near the road 60 years ago and we used to go down a trail on the right side. There was a picnic area on the left side of the bluff. I remember hearing the trains passing below.

      Wow, sounds way different than when I visited. Does the train track there even run anymore or is it out of commission? I’ve been 3 times and not heard or seen a train come through once.

    I wonder if that butterfly had just crawled out of a cocoon and its' wings just needed to spread out and dry. I think they try to climb up on some small twigs or such and let their wings drape down and air dry. I've never seen rain cause them to go limp like that. Just my observation. I'm not a real butterfly guy, but I've seen a few. Beautiful place you took us to. I noticed how the canyon walls were rapidly eroding and collapsing the soil from beneath tree roots, eventually swallowing them. In places an asphalt portion of the trail was half collapsed. I was hoping you guys realized you might be walking on a 6 inch thick overhang if you were anywhere near the edge...specially after a rain. I bet that place looks different from one year to the next...really beautiful. Thanks for taking us along.

    • @KamrynWalks
      @KamrynWalks  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I never even thought about that, even when editing the video and watching back to put on here. That’s honestly a pretty good hypothesis. If there happen to be any “butterfly guys” reading this maybe they could shine some light on the most probable scenario. Thanks for taking the time and watching along, this definitely is one of the coolest yet relatively unknown/smaller places out there that I’ve been to. We went in November of 2022 here (Red Bluff, Mississippi's Grand Canyon: Surface Level
      th-cam.com/video/HjLWgopPfVg/w-d-xo.html) and it definitely did look a little different than when we were there in this video in April of this year. I’m sure some of our spots we walked on won’t be there next year, kinda creepy to think about now that you’ve pointed that out. 😅
