      @BurningDogFace 8 ปีที่แล้ว +39

      +appelpower1 It's only irony if it's specifically the opposite of what you were expecting. In this case, it would only be ironic if the BBC had said that these three's antics would _never_ be available on Amazon because they were never going to sell Top Gear there, and then they ended up working for Amazon anyway after they parted ways with Top Gear.

    • @appelpower1

      Young Frankenstein If we're taking those standards, I'm afraid random and unnecessary use of the word 'like' counts too. 'It's like literally the most annoying word ever.'

    The thing about water rotating different directions on each side of the equator only works on large scales, like hurricanes. The Coriolis Effect does not make toilets (as someone recently pointed out) or sinks change direction of rotation. On that small of a scale, the direction of rotation is random unless it is given an external rotation.

    America developed the first computer networks (the internet). Britain invented HTML, which formed the basis of the first web pages, and hence the world wide web.
    Granted, the internet would not be what it is today without the world wide web, but Britain's HTML would have been pointless without America's development of computer networking.
    Like many modern inventions, no single country can take credit for the invention of what we now consider "the internet".

    But the thing about Jeremy, Richard, and James is that none of them were professional car people, they were just three guys who were funny and liked cars. Adam and Rutledge are funny and like cars as a hobby, but Tanner is painfully unfunny and has to like cars for his profession. You don't need a professional driver, that's what the stig is for. Personally, I saw we drop Tanner and replace him with the biggest, funniest car person in the US, Jay Leno.

    Haha, I actually am American. I know what you mean though. Living in such a large country and constantly being the "America is #1" rhetoric from the political right means that many of us have become ignorant and full of ourselves.
    Those people tend to troll the internet leaving poorly typed comments too.
    BTW, UK Top Gear is the best. The USA version is pure shit. :)

    Wait till these guys retire...wait until another version of TG gets some great journalists who happen to be very funny on camera as well. I have read many automotive journalists that were absolutely hilarious in their articles, but terrible on the camera. If it weren't for Clarkson, TGUK would be just as terrible and awful as TGUSA and TG Australia are.

    You know we really didn't kick there butts. Their armies were preoccupied in other parts of the world. We didn't even have a real navy to stop british supply until the french, yes french, helped us. So many things had to fit in to place that if we could redo the war 9/10 time we would of lost. We really got lucky. easier to supply a army at home then 3000miles away

    Jay does have a show. Jay leno's garage. but the point of topgear is entertainment. I can understand SK and Russia having localized versions but no australia or other english speaking nations dont need one. Topgear is all about the crazy british-ness about it. how biased the hosts are just adds to the character of the show.

    I think the US is far more deserving of a Top Gear than Russia, Australia, South Africa, or South Korea considering how we have cars that people actually buy. Ford, GM, and Chrysler are woefully under-represented by Top Gear UK because Jeremy doesn't like them.
    Also, Jay Leno doesn't have a show anymore.
