    Aircrete panels are about $12 dollars per bag, one bag can make three to four panels at 36 inches x 32 inches x 2 inches thick. depending on the amount of insulation you need. You can make them in house to cut cost which if they get damaged you could replace them yourself. Or you could turn the tank upside down and pour the aircrete around the tank within a lightweight box.

    I do all types of construction I'm very familiar with the board that you're talking about it's used for tiling and certain type of masonry work If my suggestion to you is before laying your sheets put a bed of mortar in between with a quarter inch trowel!
    Also be sure to use the correct Screws Designed and made for that board. The sheets are made to build tile showers..... Installed and mortar correctly i have been doing this for More years than fingers and toes. 🍻

    Very easy to scale down to a totem size and hook up to the top of a pressure cooker. Pasteurization is definitely achievable but those higher temperatures for sterilization you would want to be extra careful everything could handle it. Out side and PPE

    Paint the concrete boards with rubber paint bro. More insulation, less brittle..frame them too, that's a good idea. You can fit the insulation board into the back of the frame. I'm working something similar out. The flex seal paint will work great. Test the paint on a broken piece and decide if you need a primer, but you shouldnt need any.

    A container is a container at this point. You can lay a tarp out, stack 1000 bags, close it up with pallets or stack cinder blocks around it and pump in steam. Old school.
    I run UN barrels at 4psi. Perfect blocks and grains too. Also been running lime pasteurized SUPPLEMENTED blocks. So far so good.

    • @nathanclark2780
      @nathanclark2780 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Concrete blankets would make excellent tarps. These are insulated tarp/blankets that cover freshly laid concrete in the winter so that it doesn't freeze and crack. They are very heavy. I love the idea of piping in steam to a bunch of bags under a tarp! This makes so much sense! Would there be a hose going through the tarp with holes to release the steam throughout the enclosed area to ensure no dead pockets that didn't receive adequate heat?

      @@whatthefungus I've been sitting on the materials to build something like this for close to a year, just have not had time. Now in the off season, hope to complete it over the next month. Plan is to use 8x8x16 concrete blocks, set on a 6" slab with a 6" concrete ceiling, a wood hatch on the front. Dimensions (ID) will be 80"x48"x41" tall (should hold 200 xls-A bags at 9lbs each sawdust). Also using a single 55g drum as an electric boiler that I made using 2, 4500w water heater elements, which is already built and tested, boils like a madman, 36 gallons of 130F water to 212F in 45 minutes (seems to outperform our current propane boiler), this drum is going to go inside the concrete enclosure, which should greatly increase efficiency, hoping I'll be able to turn off one of the elements when it gets up to temp and also looking at using 240v water heater timers. Also plan to use a 2nd passive drum located outside the enclosure with an equalizer tube pass thru to the boiler drum, essentially double the water supply, provide an external fill point and sight glass. I dont anticipate using more than 18 gallons over 12 hours, but will have to see what happens in reality, may add more external drums. Now we don't cool our bags past the point of being able to carry them over to a cooling rack, despite that I keep hearing we should, but then we also have little contamination, perhaps we do but goes unnoticed...IDK, We also inoculate at 10% or greater, most everything grows like crazy, maybe that helps too, IDK. Anyway been watching to see how this worked out for you, Very nice!!! Jeff M.

  • @CMZneu

    I'm confused, you say STERILIZE but don't you actually mean PASTEURIZE? because you are heating the tubs with steam and i doubt you are getting any significant pressure buildup in those tubs so shouldn't the temp be at around the boiling point of water(100C) at best which would only pasteurize the substrate because it's nowhere near the temp to be able to kill some spores. Am i wrong here? what am i missing?

    labour is the killer, spreading it out only compounds the problem rather than alleviating it. Sure it is less to concentrate on at once and also reduces the the likely hood of wasted time but the massive increase in labour is not worth the reduced load and small loss occasionally in efficiency. Hopefully you worked this out pretty quickly and moved to larger volumes over less days (fyi, a bagger will pay for itself in about 3 months based on your numbers)....

      No doubt the boiler could produce steam in excess of 212f depending on the pressure. The issue is that he's admittedly only going for, and will only be getting 212f at the end of the designed system- being the bags. Pasteurization and Sterilization are not interchangeable terms. Cool setup, and works with their growing techniques. That's the most important thing. Finding what works for you, what and how you grow.

    More camera on the system as you narrate off camera, because one cannot visualize what your talking about. No offense, but your handsome mug need only be seen as a point of reference for size when your hand or nothing else is sufficient .I would have liked to have seen close-ups of mechanical connections ,valves, concrete panels(?),safety/steam pressure controls , i.e. everything you spoke about but never showed on video. Definitely deserves a remake .I'm looking forward to it.

    What's the point of making a video if you're only showing your face and just flashing sometimes what you're actually talking about?

    Wow you took 14 minutes to say 2 minutes worth of stuff maybe look back and see how many times you repeated yourself also the only time I ever got to see what you were talking about was in the thumbnail

    You waste too much time talking about stuff that doesn't pertain to the video topic. If it's about the sterilization system, no one wants to hear about your production levels or labor needed etc...
