If it’s an honest mistake, learn from it and move on. No need to be a goodie two shoes about it JC. You ain’t gotta prove to anyone online or off your true characters. You are golden!

It's not about being a "goodie two shoes". JC did the right thing. He posted the picture and if someone screen shots it and reports him then the penalty could have been worse than a warning.

Internet trolls would have reported it quick. He saved himself big time. This would have turned into a headline "TH-cam arrested poaching undersized fish" or something. We all make mistakes owning up to it is what separates the boys from men.

What a great way to make sure that NO ONE ever self reports a mistake in the future, especially if your catch isn’t posted on social media fir all the world to see. The FWC officer telling you that he thought it was an honest mistake, after you self reported, didn’t exactly require cutting edge investigatory skills. At least they didn’t charge you.

I went to court one time because I was fishing on SWFWM property. Very stupid mistake. Don’t do that. Most of the other cases were fish related and just about everyone who plead no contest had “adjudication withheld.” Basically you pay court fees of $500 and go on your way. Second offense they will hit you more and I’m sure the judge will make the decision vary greatly. But if you’re respectful and learn your lesson the hit isn’t too bad. There’s a lot of water in this state. No need to fish where you’re not welcome and keep illegal fish. Of course we all make mistakes some times. You’re an honest man JC! Keep up the good work!

I conquer JC did the right thing. I was about 22 and new to fishing (56 years old now) I caught a Monster Snook probably 38-41 inches it was a HOG LEG. Caught on a big Ladyfish at night. My buddies and I were so excited. We kept it. I had poles and lanterns and they had the cooler with the fish just bowing out on the sides. FWC unbeknownst to us , was watching us THE WHOLE TIME! To top it off it wasn’t even Snook season.
To make the story short, all 3 of us got charged with having an out of season snook. Each went to court and fined $175 each plus they had confiscated ALL our fishing equipment AND after the encounter I had a parking ticket on my car. Dare I say lesson learned.

Fish rules is a great tool however if it to be used to determine fish species there needs to be at least 2 photos of species that have very similar looks snappers/ pompano permit and many others.Maybe one juvenile and one adult. A note on these fish to be cautious they look similar to other species. Red arrows pointing to the areas that are different from the most commonly mis identified fish. The anglers that are trying hard to follow all the rules would benefit.

Just a heads up. You phrase lots of fish in my freezer is a point of concern considering the FWC will most likely watch this. Remember the creel and possession limits. Also fish must be labeled who caught and where. And the permit number. Nobody does this but if you were ever checked a felony might just happen.

Thanks for sharing. All of the fish in my freezer were documented when I created the videos of catching them on different days. I appreciated your views, but I have plenty of documentation to show I'm not taking fish illegally. I have no reason to intentionally do that...

@@RadReelingFishing Not about legally harvesting. It's about how many on hand. They will be watching you like a hawk now. Contact an attorney next time you feel like fussing up to a crime.

@@tireballastserviceofflorid7771 Please explain about "how many on hand". You're not making sense. If the regulation says I can keep 5 legal size mangrove snapper each day, what's your point? Better yet, if you're going to make a claim like this provide a link "here in the comment section" to a law which supports what you are saying.

@@RadReelingFishing The possession for fresh water is no more than 2 days creel limit. So if a limit on bass is 5. You can't have more than 10 in your freezer. Salt water varies a little depending on state vs federal etc.

To you, sir, who had your comment removed (you know who you are) you should be ashamed of yourself. JC is prob the most decent and honest guy doing fishing content on TH-cam. Zero reason to respond like that unless POSSIBLY his honesty made you feel guilty about all the times you’ve broken the law INTENTIONALLY. Glad your comment was taken down
