They keep releasing new products and keep forgetting about already released products.
That applies to many companies these days, especially from China. Creality is another good example.

24:01 set radio transmission bitrate to high (50mbps) but only 720p resolution. Standard frame rate. That helps system to cope with images which has a lot of small details. Because you then have lots of radio bandwidth to transmit 720p at maximum video bitrate and preserve image details. Video sent to goggles is not compressed so quickly so drastically. I use these settings + focus mode when I fly in the forest and it helps a lot. 50mbps lowers maximum flight distance but lets you see more in proximity forest flying.
Sadly it would have been a Winner 5 years ago. And for a few dollars more you get the best on the market. And for about the same price as the Caddx fpv Gofilm20 you get a Flywoo Flylens 85 with DJI 03 system . No need to spend 2000 $ for the AVATA 2 with purchasing a controller and added care refresh. I have the DJI FPV and the AVATA original with over 300 flights each. No need to change for me. The Flylens 85 gets all the stick time for now. Thanks for your presentation Ian.

It would be to their benefit to have multiple versions (I.e., without the VTX, options for RC protocol) like most manufacture have done.

Thanks Ian, Great Review! I'll probably stick to the Pavo 20 as a comparable, cheaper option. However, it would be nice to see DJI bring a feature rich, smarter version of this, to their lineup.

I could have sworn the branches camouflaged with the barn in the back and thats why they weren't visible until a split second before almost hitting them. Def is something with the settings because video off my goggles looks better even on the 1s vtx.

Ian you did a great job on the review, and it is an okay bnf but nothing amazing. I feel that instead them spending time to add more products like this, Caddx should be focused on ironing out what they have.
Yea lots still not fixed. I’m going to be putting out a 2 years later video soon. Two years and still no focus mode. Improvement to the overall RF behaviour. Still no app for the goggles X. Still no zoom function. Still much just glossed over. Well not by me ;).
@@MadRC Didn’t they also say that there would be a “new system” also sometime around August 2024 or a bit after that? I wonder how far along they are with that idea at this point…
I can understand that they may have felt compelled to build this though, because the other BNF drone vendors weren't.
BNF drones in general, and especially this category of micro-cinewhoops, were focusing almost exclusively on DJI O3. You might say well, yeah, because O3 is better, but as the manufacturer of a competing HD FPV system Caddx may have felt that they needed to bring a micro-cinewhoop of their own to market just to prove that Moonlight BNFs are viable, and hope that more BNF manufacturers decide to offer Moonlight/HD Pro/HD V2 versions of their BNFs as a result.
It may be working. I see that Flywoo now have a Moonlight version of the FlyLens 85 on their website.
How much does the removable plastic bit weigh? I’m trying to make a drone that’s under 100g.

I just got my Gofilm 20. For some reason the Betaflight telemetry is not making it to my radio. My TX16S telemetry only shows the ELRS receiver data and I cannot get the other Betaflight related telemetry values added (voltage, current ect.). I have telemetry enabled under the receiver tab of Betaflight. I have tried to delete all telemetry and then discover new several tines, but I just get the standard 9 points from the receiver. All this data is displayed in the goggles.
Anyone else have this issue with the GoFilm 20?
Its 100€ above the price. 180 for the moonlight Kit + 120 for the drone itself its 300€ not 400€
How does this VTX/camera compare to the DJI O3 …. Better?
There is no FPV system better than O3 today other than O4 on DJI Avata 2. CaddX Moonlight offers some nice options but no one today or anytime to will beat DJI for image quality and link performance overall. DJI is still 3-5 years ahead of everyone else.
When the DJI O4 Air unit comes out?
Probably end of the year.

@@ccLaPss i just can't get good focus with them. Have tried all the different lenses that come with them and just can't seem to get a full clear view. I ended up with 2 different lenses but should probably do some more testing to get it just right. I don't wear glasses but think vision has gotten a bit worse over the last few years 😉

@@MadRC doesnt' matter now as I sold the goggles. The only thing I wanted to know if they really exchanged teh oleds to ones that can sustain higher temps as they say. To prove that someone has to disassemble it. Still their workaround to solve overheating doesn't really solve the design flaw and 64 deg Celsius is still way too high for oleds and their lifetime will be definitely affected. And I don't even say anything about badly designed RF module.
Is it compatible with Integra goggles?

what a bad quality is that, the DJI 03 is better in everything, with me there is only DJI, all the others are garbage especially in the internal video recordings of the air unit!
Yeah, internal recording has never been too good, DJI has been the best so far and that's not saying a whole lot, but they both are good enough for TH-cam that in reality no one cares about the quality, it's not like your going to use either for a "pro" shoot.
