As an adopted Ethiopian boy in America, I am surrounded by American people. But I kept my Ethiopian language and culture so close. Now, I am grown up and have my own apartment and unfortunately here in America your neighbor usually complains when you open laud music. So, I played Dishta Gina laud on the speaker dancing and singing at the same time. So, two white American neighbors showed up at my door. I told them right away that I was sorry and that I will turn the volume down. Their answer, "oh no we don't you to turn it down, we just want to know the name of the song." I invited them into my apartment and showed them the whole music video, and they start dancing with me. Just wanted to say.... THE POWER OF OUR ETHIOPIAN CULTURE!
Yes bro, the music has the power to catch the ear and the heart of many from different walk of life. We have so many more impressive traditional songs specially in the southern state of ethiopia where I am living.
Was introduced to this song by a special ethiopa co worker i had the pleasure to meet. Thank you for everything and much love to Ethiopia from Texas Girl, USA🇺🇸🇨🇱❤
I'm from Ivory Coast located In the west Africa. I consider Ethiopians as part of my family. I feel glad when I see them and ear them sing such a lovely song.

Let me break it down to you in French brother.
Love from the United States. I heard this song for the first time a few days ago at an Ethiopian restaurant in Houston Texas. It spoke deeply to my soul. I have no idea what he's saying but I could feel it. I asked the waitress who was the artist. She brought me to this page. This song has been repeat in my house for 3 days. Thank you!
He's singing about his life as a Ethiopian soldier, who became a day labourer after and then homeless. He sings about leaving the big city of Addis to become a farmer in the village that raises him but when he returns to his village the elders don't respect his soldier hairstyle. So the he sings about living near the village in the forest with his children. He is trying to use his own life story to encourage peace beyond different ethnicities, races, tribes and religion
I don't know what he says in the Ari language, but in Amharic he says: "I brought nothing down and I don't take anything back up. Who called the pure seed a chaff? Adam my brother, me and Adam my one father. You and Eve my one bone. It's our deed on earth we have to answer to. When we stand before Him, seed (race) doesn't make you righteous. No one washes her, no one sweeps her, but look at the sky how beautiful she is. Woe earth woe. I'm from you, you're from me, but love is lost. You are from there (above), I am from there. Babylon dispersed us, and until this day we lost true love; nothing to sing, nothing to chant. What's better for us now?" The song fades out as he repeats it. At 01:16 "Dishta Gina, Dishta Gina; Gail babo, a Dishta Gina Baarger babo, a Dishta Gina Sida babo, irar Dishta Gina Seiti babo, irar Dishta Gina Teyye babo, irar Dishta Gina Baka babo, irar Dishta Gina Huba babo, hura Dishta Gine Laide babo, hura Dishta Gine Woze babo, hibaa goyse akka Arit Dishta Gine Arit Dishta Gine" I'D REALLY LOVE to KNOW WHAT MEANS.

I found this in the comment section from guy named Solomon, the lyrics below are the amharic part of the song, the song is using 2 languages (Ari) and (Amharic), glad you liked the song❤️ Me and Adam( my father) You and Eve (my bone)--he points his index finger towards his ribs[ reference to the Bible]. I came naked to this world and leave with nothing. There is no best Ethnic group/race amongst ourselves.. Where does this Evil came from, we are all one. Look up the sky, no one washes it or cleans it but it is amazingly beautiful. It is here on Earth that "We do not have LOVE". GOD judges you for what you did on earth. You do not get salvation before God based on your Ethnicity/race. You came from there, I came from there, We all came from there, We are all one(This is where he grasps his chest) We are scattered all over the world after the fall of Babylon from God's grace. To this day, we do not have a true love. no matter how we sing about it. What should we do ? GOD judges you for what you did on earth. You do not get salvation before God based on your Ethnicity/race./2/

I am not even Ethiopian and I don’t I understand what he is saying but I can feel his energy. I like everything about this song ❤️ and the world needs this.
Dear Non Ethiopian Listeners, I am amazed by your deep interest in Ethiopian music and for that I applaud you. In my opinion, the song went viral because of the message and the openness of TARIKU about his personal life on live TV interview. Tariku was born and grown up in the rural part of southern Ethiopia. He served in the military and fought a war in the North. Life was challenging for him when he was in the capital Addis Ababa. He worked as a day laborer and was living homeless life in the streets. Lastly, he decided to go back to his place of birth to break from the hustle and bustle of Addis Ababa . But the challenge he faced was that his people disowned him because of his gangster look with the long dread hair. He then went to local church and prayed to GOD to reveal his talent and make him somebody. Now he lives in the jungle as a farmer. He is the father of 5 kids. The meaning of his father's name [Gankisi] is "To break bad habits." He is happy with his life and never complains. He is full of positive energy and exerts this magnetic power in to the crowd with laughter. DISHTA GHINE means New Year in "ARI" language. It is an Afro -Asiatic > Omotic>South language. He begins the song by calling all the months and asking everybody to forgive their wrong doings and hope the New Year to brings happiness. And then he says the following verses in Amharic and translated as follows: Me and Adam( my father) You and Eve (my bone)--he points his index finger towards his ribs[ reference to the Bible]. I came naked to this world and leave with nothing. There is no best Ethnic group/race amongst ourselves.. Where does this Evil came from, we are all one. To this day, we do not have a true love. no matter how we sing about it. What should we do ? GOD judges you for what you did on earth. You do not get salvation before God based on your Ethnicity/race./2/ It is a dazzling, mesmerizing, inspirational, and spiritual song full of positivity that reminds everybody that "We are created in the image of GOD. Do you know that the Berber people in Morocco have blood related bond with the Ethiopians? They immigrated from the northern part of Ethiopia called Agew . There's a lot of similarities in our cultures and the way we look. I've a plan to visit them one day.
@@hanisha9376 Thanks for your answer Hani. I noticed similarities but I've never seen it written anywhere ... Could you please share the link of a video or article where it is mentioned that Berbers are blood related to Agew people ?
@@brahimbelhaj3538 Unfortunately, I don't have any video of it for the moment. I just started being interested about the Berber people because here in Europe where I live, the moroccans keep telling me all time that I look like the Berber people. And, I started my investigation in Ethiopia and the only information I've for the moment is that, effectively they immigrated from Agew. Ethiopia is a country of more than 80 different ethnic groups, each of them with their own language and culture. But what I've noticed is that, the culture of the Berber people has special similarity with the people of the northern part of Ethiopia. One of the reasons why I want to visit Morocco is to know more about them in first hand.
Amazigh people are native Africans. They originated around Ancient Egypt and Lybia. As a cyclical cultural continuity, many people in the Sahara region have ancient Historical contacts. Even with this diverse sparse land. People have traded / traveled and influenced one an other since antiquity. In ancient time trans-Saharan traders used to navigate from the tip of Somali-land up to the riff atlas mountain. Many Western Historians now a days like to to ignore this fact, There was a trade route named " Neqada Behir ", which traders from Mediterranean, Red sea and Atlantic ocean used to meet. Still the significant impact and the clear trace they made is un-deniable. P.s. It is better if you don't use the name "Berber" to refer your self. The more acceptable term should be Amazigh / Imazighen or any of your tribe name. The term Berber/Barabarian is derogatory word given to them by Europeans.

"I brought nothing down and I don't take anything back up. Me and Adam( my father)
You and Eve (my bone)--he points his index finger towards his ribs[ reference to the Bible].

There is no best Ethnic group/race amongst ourselves..
Where does this Evil came from, we are all one.
Look up the sky, no one washes it or cleans it but it is amazingly beautiful.

GOD judges you for what you did on earth.
You do not get salvation before God based on your Ethnicity/race.
You came from there, I came from there, We all came from there, We are all one(This is where he grasps his chest)
We are scattered all over the world after the fall of Babylon from God's grace.
To this day, we do not have a true love. no matter how we sing about it.

Dear Non Ethiopian Listeners,
I am amazed by your deep interest in Ethiopian music and for that I applaud you.
And then he says the following verses in Amharic and translated as follows:
Me and Adam( my father)
You and Eve (my bone)--he points his index finger towards his ribs[ reference to the Bible].
I came naked to this world and leave with nothing.
There is no best Ethnic group/race amongst ourselves..

What should we do ?
GOD judges you for what you did on earth.

It is a dazzling, mesmerizing, inspirational, and spiritual song full of positivity that reminds everybody that "We are created in the image of GOD.

Do you know that the Berber people in Morocco have blood related bond with the Ethiopians? They immigrated from the northern part of Ethiopia called Agew . There's a lot of similarities in our cultures and the way we look. I've a plan to visit them one day.
@@hanisha9376
Thanks for your answer Hani.
I noticed similarities but I've never seen it written anywhere ...
Could you please share the link of a video or article where it is mentioned that Berbers are blood related to Agew people ?
@@brahimbelhaj3538
Unfortunately, I don't have any video of it for the moment.
@@hanisha9376 i have got answer my question, thanks
