- It is often said that age is just a number.
But when it comes to relationships people can be quick to judge couple when one partner is significantly older than the other.
To discover what the public really thinks about 'age-gap' relationships, MailOnline sent a 23-year-old man and a 60-year-old woman out on to the streets of London and challenged them to play a loved-up couple who can't keep their hands off each other.
Our cameras secretly filmed as they strolled through parks and shared tender moments, capturing the candid reactions of strangers and passers-by.
We then pulled some aside to ask for their thoughts on the 37-year age gap between the pair - and their responses might just surprise you...

My great aunt married someone who was over 20 years her senior. They had a fantastic marriage, 5 kids and they were very happy. Her mother and father were very judgmental but I grew up accepting that my late great uncle was my late great uncle
My grandmother was 17 years older than my grandfather. They had six children, (she started at 36), finished at 46. She’s still kicking, we lost him last year at 80. Happiest most loving couple I’ve ever known.

My grandmother and grandfather had a twenty year age gap. They seemed to make it work okay, and had three kids. I think it depends on a few factors: compatibility, outlook on life, dependability, and love would be huge factors. Society seems to say that an older man with a much younger woman is either a sugar daddy or a pervert, and that a young man with a much older woman is looking for a mother figure. I say if it works, more power to them!

Thank you for sharing your story , my folks were killed in a tragic car accident. I was 17 at the time. During this time I received great comfort from a neighbor who had herself lost her husband of some 40 years prior to my parents accident.Well long story short we became lovers. What sealed it for me was when I dropped by from a maternity shop for some bras, due to her size she had to have them made. On returning she changed into one of the pairs and we made love (They were a size 50) and with some cream we made out. It was after that i asked her to marry me. I have never been happier. She did tell me she had seen me returning from the gym and was impressed with the results. So I have all that I ever wanted.

I wish these kind of Couples (if they have a true, stable and loving Relationship) would at least adopt Kids who are unwanted or have no Parents.
