I went to Dorney Park last year during Haunt and I was pleasantly surprised. I don't know if many Cedar Fair parks take their Haunt as seriously as Dorney Park does. On top of that I really had a good time on their top 3 coasters. I thought their Revolution flat ride is a lot of fun too. I don't get the hate for Steel Force, especially at night. It's a lot of fun.
I'm partial to old-school 'Scorpion' and 'Enterprise' rides; I love that DP still has those after all these years. (Actually, they didn't have the former the last time I went, some 20 years ago.)
Definitely a good waterpark for this place. The coaster collection is good as they have a decent Morgan Hyper, an extremely unique B&M Floorless, an Invert, and other attractions. I definitely think it's a cool thing the park has both an S&S Space Shot drop tower and an Intamin First Generation one, they are 2 totally different experiences.
Demon Drop is such an underrated roller coaster. ;) The drop on that roller coaster is my favorite moment on any ride at the park. My favorite ride is Hydra because of how unique and quirky it is. I love how the lack of aggressive moves allow for no headbanging plus giving hangtime & airtime.
I loved all of the coasters here, especially possessed, talon, steel force, and Hydra. Another great ride that didn't make your is the skloosh. That one is a fun one too
Personally my favorite ride there is absolutely demon drop that thing is terrifying and I love it. And I really enjoy the aqua-blast raft slide you really went flying when u hit the walls of the slide
When Steel Force came out, everyone was soooo excited to have a 200 foot coaster outside of Cedar Point! I have to mention Hercules. I got on it about a week after it opened. The drop was awesome and the turn was intense!!
Gotta give a shout-out to the now-defunct flatride "Iceberg" (later renamed "Meteorite"), an n-degree in-the-dark 'Cuddle-Up' ride that would cause you to lose ALL sense of direction! Of all the rides I've ridden in my life, that may be the one I miss the most.
I remember the old "Flying Dutchman" coaster with some fondness. I got much *less* fondness for "Hercules", which was breaking a lot of spines by the time it shut down.
Funny thing: my memories of 'Demon Drop' were actually at nearby SFGA, back when it was dubbed "Freefall" (later "Stuntman's Freefall"). Haven't been on it since; funny to now see it at DP.
I haven't been here in a long time thanks to CF's neglect of new thrills. I have 2 questions which maybe you could guess answers for. First is there enough room over where Hercules once stood to have some kinda neat coaster using the footers in the water (like verbolten used BBW)? And do u think voodoo will remain, that the zephyr is re-routed around it, even if the shuttle coaster doesn't come for years yet or at all? I'm thinking that's up in the air with Calif GA closing and a cheaper alternative from there being possible to "fill space" since CF hasn't cared since 2008.
Last year for my cousins birthday I went to Downey park for the first time, I went on the patriots plunge I went on the white slide and it was so fun but it felt like I was gonna fly off and I also went on the talon and it was so fun but since it was my first roller coaster I passed out. I tried to go on the wild mouse but the lines were to long all though Dorsey park is a really fun place to spend time with family and friends!
I've been told by park people at last year's ACE event that they're looking to bring back the holding brake for Possessed this year. I hope they follow through.
I have Talon as my favorite coaster at Dorney. With my channel/site name & logo, is that surprising though? 😂 Just curious if you ever had the chance to ride Hercules? I went with my aunt the year it opened. I loved it and so did she. Went a couple of years later and still thought it was good. I was barely in double digits as far as age goes though... Back when I ranked Anaconda at Kings Dominion as my number 1 coaster. 😂😂😂
@@George_bonnaire I rode it early on as a kid and never felt it was rough. I never got rides on it in its later years though. They were all debut season and like a year or two after.
Dorney Park: Imagine Steel Force running trimmed. Would you like to see it running trimmed or would you like to see it running untrimmed? What do you think?
I never understood why cedar fair sent Stinger (invertigo) to Dorney park when they already have Talon and even Possessed. I feel like they should have sent it to ValleyFair. Although they have an intamin impulse another roller coaster with inversions would have been a nice addition.
Demon Drop reminds me of Freefall at SFOG. That was a scary fall. I used to put a penny on my knee and watch it float as you dropped. Sadly it was replaced by Acrophobia
So much wasted space at Dorney. Nothing replaced Stinger and the plot of land would be great for a RMC Raptor. Where Dinosaurs Alive once was would be superb for a Drop style Coaster like Diabolical. Imagine the removal of Revolution and the insert of a modern day Enterprise (ie Cat Woman's Whip or Super Girl.) New rides would justify slightly higher prices that I would gladly pay for. I've been going to Dorney Park for most of my life. Dorney Park makes it's most money when Water Park opens. It needs an equally weight in the Dry Park. My opinion. Great Video.
The flume and the rapids are like both the best rides in their category anywhere, at least that I’ve been. They’re both so unique compared to other flumes/rapids and get you waaaaay more wet
Actually Teststrecke was brought to Saudi Arabia in 2019, I barely missed it at Wiener Prater where it was located before. It doesn't seem to have returned since, so it's kinda unsure if it was sold or will make another comeback at the German fair circuit...
Today I went to Dorney Park for a field trip, and I have to say I've never been to an amusement park so this was my first one. The first ride I went on was the Talon, it was scary but I didn't feel like screaming. The second one I went on was the hydra, it was a scary upside down experience even the 2 teachers we were with was like "OH". Then we ate lunch and I skipped some of the rides because I didn't want to throw up my food but I went on possessed. I have to say possessed was my favorite!
I have to say I am amazed that you preferred Laser over Hydra: The Revenge. But I do have a few other questions. First, I saw three towers on Dominator but one of them was hollowed out which suggests there's nothing on that tower? Was it always like that? And secondly, if Stinger was removed thanks to downtime, why wasn't it given an overhaul like what Silverwood did with Aftershock when it was relocated from Six Flags Great America and how come Invertigo at Kings Island doesn't suffer from any down time at all when it's exactly the same ride?
Laser was a more forceful ride start to finish. Dominator's 3rd "leg" or tower seems to be just for aesthetics and support. It never had a tower there. Invertigo has had downtime when I'm at Kings Island, but the one at Dorney was more troublesome.
As a Dorney local I really like and agree with this list. Only thing I would add is Apollo which I think is the best flat ride at the park. Also could make a case for Aquablast but lower on the list or as a honorable mention.
There's only 2 parks where both of my top 2 rides aren't coasters, and this is one of them. My favorite is by far Demon Drop. My second favorite is Dominator, which is saying a lot as S&S towers are probably at the bottom of my list. None of the coasters here really impressed me that much. Especially Talon, I thought that was really forceless.
I'm glad chance rides still uses the arrow track design but from a durability standpoint it doesn't make sense. Bracing the rails from the inside makes it far stronger than having the rails held up by the sides. The track will warp far quicker. But regardless I'm happy it's still being used by chance rides. Although I wish they would go back to the arrow style with thick cross ties.
PLEASE I BEG… if it’s a busy day DONT go on wild mouse, the turns hurt your knees and honestly aren’t that thrilling and the line is a long wait since reloading takes forever, i spent more time on that line than any other lines when i went twice and it just isn’t worth it.
See in RCDB: Steel Force at Dorney Park Sierra Sidewinder at Knott's Berry Farm High Roller at Valleyfair Carolina Cyclone at Carowinds Flight Deck at Canada's Wonderland Imagine trying to ride those coasters again, what would you think about each one to ride?

I only did one haunt last year and instead focused on rides.
Dorney park has always done a great Haunt 👍
I'm partial to old-school 'Scorpion' and 'Enterprise' rides; I love that DP still has those after all these years.

Demon Drop, whatever you classify it as, has an amazing drop.
It should stay for much longer!
I wouldn’t classify Demon Drop as a coaster, but it definitely is one of the top tier attractions in the park
I loved all of the coasters here, especially possessed, talon, steel force, and Hydra. Another great ride that didn't make your is the skloosh. That one is a fun one too
White Water Landing?
Yeah
I forgot the name
I'll ride the woodie. Love wooden coasters. Other rides look like fun too. Fun video. Thank you.

It looked huge from photos.

It is weird seeing it at Dorney, but I like it.
This ride was actually Demon Drop at Cedar Point, but I did go on Stuntman's Freefall.
I get Downey passes every year and it is awesome!!! Me and my brothers looooove the patriots plunge
That's a good slide.
We're going here for our senior trip, i gotta see what the best rides are so I can be the cool person who knows how to party yk, lol

I hope Possessed stays since they fixed it up for 2021. I think they could use the footers if they put a station where the old Swan Boats were.

I don't think it happened...

I don't have a big issue with any of their rides.

I prefer untrimmed.

I feel like they should have sent it to ValleyFair. Although they have an intamin impulse another roller coaster with inversions would have been a nice addition.
At least they didn't send it to a park with a boomerang and place it next to that boomerang like Six Flags.
@@CanobieCoaster that is another example I don't understand why they did that

It was at the park when I visited in late 2023.
@@CanobieCoaster oh alright, I was wondering cuz all of the videos of it are very old.

I've never ridden Aquablast due to lines on the water side.
Is Steel Force a little scary but exciting, scary, very scary, extremely scary, or overwhelmingly scary?
It's exciting. It's not too wild for a coaster of its size.

*Meteor

Hydra can rattle, so it's possible to get a headache on that one.
Meteor for me.
Talon is definitely my favorite.

What do you think about Steel Force at Dorney Park in smoothness or roughness?
Smooth

Steel Force at Dorney Park
Sierra Sidewinder at Knott's Berry Farm
High Roller at Valleyfair
Carolina Cyclone at Carowinds
Flight Deck at Canada's Wonderland
