    See how to replace the front wheel bearings on a Honda Rancher in this video from Partzilla.com. How do you know you need to replace the wheel bearings on your ATV? Well, one tell-tale sign is that you can wiggle the wheel around a good bit. That could mean it’s time for them to go.
    John will show you how to remove the hub first. This will involve getting the wheel off, removing the brake caliper, and then disconnecting the upper and lower ball joints. Then, we’ll pull the old seals using our seal puller and then remove the bearing. Next, we’ll use a bearing press set from Motion Pro to get the new wheel bearings in place, and then we’ll replace the seals.
    Then, we’ll get everything back together.

    Quick question, my steering wheel doesn't turn as smooth as we would like. I changed the steering upper shaft bushing. What else could it be?

    This must be his first time doing this. Take the shock bolt off and get the cv out of the way and pull the bearing easy

    @partzilla I noticed you have a few bearing changing videos. Sorry if I’ve missed it but have you done bearing changes on a 2016 Polaris Ranger or similar utv/atv with front struts?

      A while back we did a wheel bearing replacement on a 2011 Ranger 800 crew: th-cam.com/video/yrlbdD3xDOA/w-d-xo.html

      @@PartzillaParts thank you for responding the front strut hub on my Polaris Ranger is part 1824180 (right side). I think it’s a little different and was wonder if just the hub is removed (decompressing the spring) or entire strut assembly (with spring) is removed to replace the bearings. I guess either way would work just wanted to see a master changing it out lol

      You probably figured it out by now. The castle nut was probably tightened too much.

  • @jasonjaeger4042
    @jasonjaeger4042 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    My buddy is changing his and I'm telling him how over the phone. He's not a mechanic of any sort so he can't look at a bolt/nut and guess the size. You should say what size sockets you're using, that would help a lot of people.

    • @Mechanicalcircus
      @Mechanicalcircus ปีที่แล้ว

      Honda is Japanese everything is metric. When John says "a couple of 12's" that means a 12mm socket will remove that nut.

    Hello, great video. I also have a Honda foreman s 500. Just changed the bearing and seals. I did everything the same way you did it. When I finished I had the same wobble With the tire. Checked everything. The bearing seemed to come out a little to easy. Could I have a bad knuckle? I torqued main nut to 58 ftp and still wobble. Can you help with advice.

      I'm having this same problem, I wonder if it's the hub

    • @stevenyonkers6330
      @stevenyonkers6330 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Well I haven’t figured it out yet why I have the wobble but I got new bearings and seals so I’m just going to live with it a little bit of a wobble.Probably gonna wear out the seal somewhere down the line.

      @@MikeRogersMusic Its 100% the hub. I know this comment is old as sin, but take the hub off. The bearing will literally be loose where it seats. Driving the bearing in, you feel resistance. But its actually worn out where it bottoms out. Total PITA after buying bearings, and needing a hub. I tried 2 different brands/bearings and this was the issue. Theyre on ebay for around $45 used, or you can spend about $270 for a new OEM one. Somewhat known issue on the honda forums. Personally I'm rolling the dice on ebay and checking for the same issue when it arrives.
