The only reason I like that modern releases of Frogger are WITHOUT MUSIC is that I have this awesome music loop to play with it! The best port for the day and the best music, too. No interruptions to the music here, just the finest ear worm!
To this day all you have to say is "frogger" and this song is bopping in my head. I beat this game. Well, not to say I beat it because you can't beat it. But I got to the point where the levels looped and didn't get any harder and beat that level 10 times.
The music at the start of the video is really bugging me... it also showed up in the Game Gear and Master System port. I know it's an old folk song of some kind, and it sounds so familiar, but I can't quite put my finger on it.
At the very beginning? That's the theme from Araiguma Rascal / Rascal the Raccoon: th-cam.com/video/2YMH5ntJEZ0/w-d-xo.html - A lot of songs in this game were taken from anime themes without permission, which is why most ports (even otherwise arcade-perfect ports) have entirely different music.
It's several songs that all flow as a single endless loop. I hear in it a little of the old USPS jingle: We deliver for you! I can't help but remember it every time I listen to the music.
Frogger? When I was young, this game was called "Jumping Jack". The graphic and the sound was a little better, but it was the same game and it was on Commodore 64.

bleeding ears :))) absolute legend, i remember my sister and me playing this game for hours in front of a 14" tv...aaah, the 80ies 😁
Classic version - memories of playing this with my Dad.
A classic on the C64 :). I had this game. Retro games all the way!
Do not ask me why I woke up this morning humming this theme song and I had to go back to figure out where was from...... 1982 at its finest...

OMG, got hit my a wave of nostalgia hearing the intro music.
Same here :)
The version I have of this on the retro pie lacks the music. Any ideas?
YES!!! The Frogger with the white frog!

I disagree with the dislike on this video.
I really miss my C64.

Barney Song = Yankee Doodle
Also, I couldn't help but picture the Barney Show opening theme in my head after reading this. :]
oh frogger
Rockin' tunes. They're covers though right?
I mean the Game Gear and Master System port of Lemmings.
Most of the song you can't place in this game are actually japanese songs, either from old anime or childrens songs.
saying this is the same game as jumping jack or whatever is like saying dark souls is like world of warcraft, only because both are roughly rpgs
I know this is a stupid question but I have this on emulator and I cannot figure out how to start the game! How do you do it?
The Game Start Music is too slow and the Level Clear Music is not here.
