When brought to the usa, these tune were kept instead of replacing them with ones more familar to US audiences, in most versions. Yankee Doodle has a different name and lyrics in japan. Rascal Racoon (us translated name) was the show many of them were taken from, including the most recognizable "frogger tune"
I am a former atarist and I like both the game and the music a lot. The music starts with the Japanese song ロックリバーへ, then later I hear Yankee Doodle and also a piece of Humoresque. With the attract mode starting at 10:56 it looks interesting, I haven't yet seen it like this.
