I’m about to start the stain process of the same cabin. I ordered a log set from RGT and am staining the outside logs a grey, and the inside oak colored, obviously the interior won’t weather like the interior. I’m also leaving the first floor wall out and using a log running the length of the cabin with additional logs following the short edge as joists. I have issues with chimneys and no interior fireplace to feed them. So I’m taking a giant leap and basing fireplace and chimney stack on the Negley Cabin in Mercersburg PA. The interior logs and the chimney are going to require cutting the second floor stair well and a large cutout on the opposite end wall for the firebox to extend through the wall to the exterior chimney. Risky moves for a first miniature house, but go big or go home. I’m enjoying your videos, giving me techniques for the actual construction. My prior woodworking experience was 50 years ago so this is risky.
it has been about 20 years for me also. just treat t like a real house just 1/12scale. you can get a 1/12scale converter on your phone it will help out a lot.
My boyfriend just got me the Moss creek log cabin yesterday. This will be my very first time building a tiny house. I am so thankful for you video!
