    Hear that voice?
That’s the sound of a man whose LIVED the song singing the song as his very own story.
And that’s why Jerry is and will forever be
    IRREPLACEABLE

For the 94 haters The Guy WAS DYING!!’ Look at him. He’s only 51. What he was doing out there was being as real as any musician has ever been. The reflection in his phrasing says it all. He’s looking back not forward To be able to witness that is something u will never see again from any other artist. An all time great on his way out, knowing it and letting us in on the true feeling. No faking JoY. No it’ll be alrightness. Oh man. So so real. In my mind he’s the A1A of all musicians. Period. .

standing on the moon and days between are perfect in their weakness. took decades of life, love, and loss to become this frail. those songs could not have been sung in the 70's or 80's. perfect.

I was in a punk band and I fell in love with a deadhead and it drove me crazy having the Grateful Dead playing all the time until one day I'm in the bedroom for the Monterey and this exact version was playing on one of his Dick's Picks tapes. When Jerry started to play that solo at the end I froze because I didn't know how great he was ....but more than that I had never heard a guitar solo that sounded like raindrops bouncing off the strings. Every single person that doesn't understand how great of a guitar player he is should listen to the last 2 minutes of this song.

When I was 16, I had the standing on the moon t-shirt. My Grandmother had kicked me out. I was living in Jersey at the time. put me on the train to my father's in North Carolina. I was wearing a Henley shirt under. Another guy a little older sat next to me, he had a case of beer and he was wearing the Burt and Ernie terrapin Street t-shirt. When I woke up I was looking in the overhead for my shirt. I found his in it's place. At first I was upset because his wasn't as good as mine. But in that same moment my attitude changed as I realized this kind of thing is not typical. His was older and very used. Sad thing is, I came back up to New Jersey and my mother had thrown it out. Can you imagine the anger? This kind of thing doesn't happen twice.
I guess you can say it was the Silver Lining in a Grey time.

We were lucky enough to see the final two in Chicago
I wish I could find, or someone could post, the 8/21/93 Jack Straw or the finest Standing 8/22/93 from Autzen-if you haven't been to Eugene you're missing alot
Jerry went crazy after "I'd rather be with you'
His knees almost buckled before he finished with
    "I'd rather be with you'
    He's right here-right now
    Just close your eyes
We still give as much as they were willing to give back
    Pass it on

Honestly, I can’t find not one show from all 30ish years that …”sucked” just the mean people really😁🤔😁 they suck. As for 1994… from right around his Birthday8/1/94 through the end of the Fall run of shows ,well…it’s some of the finest Grateful Dead music you can bend an ear to. I was lucky enough to not only be there but to get in most nights and idk if you had to be there to appreciate it or if it’s just ignorance to a era that has been given a bad name all because ..,why? Cause Jerry looked bad because damnit he didn’t sound that bad ! I’d put up most nights from Boston ‘Philly and MSG of 94 against any show from the 70s and there’s just as many mistakes musically and lyrically in those yes as some have said of the 90s . And shit we ALL looked bad through those tour dates I know I was rough. So that being said IF you “Honestly” think 94 sucked . What year do you have that didn’t suck I’m super curious??

Hey, enjoy. If there is one thing that can be said about the Dead's music is that we each experience it from our own point of view.
