Dear, dear... I was unable to choose *any answer* to most of the questions, so I guess I can’t be any of Henry’s wives. Whew, what a relief!
Claire, after posting my Anne of Cleves result and then reading all the comments I was surprised to see not only the many others who got Anne but how many also claim her as their favorite wife. I think you once said that she was also your second favorite after Ann B. Since she is so popular with your subscribers, would you consider doing more episodes about her. If there is not enough On This Day material on her perhaps Tiesel might want to give more stories about Anne in her Tiesel's Trivia.

I admire Anne of Cleaves because because she was intelligent enough to agree to the annulment of their marriage. Not to mention she was handsomely rewarded for giving Henry what he wanted. Of all the wives, Anne Of Cleaves got the last laugh by out living Henry, his son Edward and she treated Queen Mary with deference. However, I took the quiz and ended up with Catherine of Aragon.
I got Anne of Cleves. Which is quite satisfactory, as I got the Catherine of Aragon treatment during my divorce and once was more than enough.

To my surprise, I got Katherine of Aragon. She is my favorite, but I was secretly hoping for Anne, since I would’ve given Henry a divorce ASAP. Better the Kings Sister, second to none save the Queen, And with a large settlement of houses and land, than being a head shorter.

I got Anne of Cleves! I'm happy with that since I love Germany and I felt sorry for her, and she got to have beautiful Hever Castle, and she could keep her head!

I was brutally honest Clare, and I ended up as Catherine Howard. I've always felt so incredibly sympathetic towards her as she was just a girl.

Anne Boleyn is the coolest choice though. Probably wouldn't agree with the beautiful remark. Elegant may be more accurate.

I was astonished to see I got Anne of Cleves. My favorite is Anne Boleyn, but in retrospect, I think Anne of Cleves actually did quite well. She kept her head, became wealthy, was able to tell her brother that she wasn't coming back home and was well-regarded by the King. Not bad really.

My favorite wife of grumpy Henry VIII, is Anne Boyelyn. I will admit that my answers matched yours, Claire, apparently more than Anne B.'s. I too got the poor kicked to the curb, first wife, Catherine of Aragon. Hrmmm,.. perhaps that is because I also am a first wife that was tossed for a younger version.
Yikes, now that I think about it..he has now been married 4x. Whew, we have all survived though!! 🤣
The funny thing about people who marry various times, is that they tend to realize (when they become older and more needy) that they were better off with their original spouse, than in looking for going for someone else. They end up having the same problems they always did and blamed their spouses for them.

I think you'd appreciate German history as well. In the 16th century, there was a Hessian prince, Landgrave Philip the Magnanimous, who neither beheaded nor divorced his wives. Instead, he married two simultaneously: a princess as his legal wife on the right and a lady-in-waiting on the left. My favorite is Anne of Cleves, but I got Catherine of Aragon. Which is cool, I like her too. She had to deal with a lot in her life (none of which was her fault) but she handled it with grace.

Katherine of Aragon - the best. The one he was married to the longest. The one who had the most to commend her: beautiful, intelligent, faithful, royal at birth. Curious questions, though. The song choices? Montell Jordan??? Who remembers the mid-90s? Cirque du Soleil shows? I've been to one of the shows, but none that were offered looked familiar. And I don't get the choice of "leaders": former American President, former Mexican President, current Canadian Prime Minister, Swedish Prince. Three of those fellows are handsome. One is not a politician. The choice is clear.
