It doesn't even sound like a trombone, it sounds too sweet, just as is the case when a piccolo trumpet is played by a 'specialist' rather than a doubling orchestral trumpet player. I once heard an entire piccolo trumpet recital played by such a specialist named, Martin Berinbaum. If it weren't for the volume, you would have thought you were listening to a flute. So sweet!
The video is slightly out of sync, but the slide positions are right... Alto trombone is a 4th higher than a tenor (with some other weird adjustments on certain notes). I saw another video of this performance before that wasn't out of sync- I don't know what happened to it- but trust me and just ignore it. This guy is a world class trombonist- so enjoy!
