"doesn't sound a thing like" is far from true however, only if you specifically focus on the parts that are different could you say that, in which case you're really not giving a fair criticism, because he did a pretty decent job.
Whenever i try to to cover Billy corgan i realize how hard it is. He doesn’t sing he straight emotes. It’s pretty unbelievable. There’s no trying to do it. If the universe lets it happen well there it is. A really nice version. Fine job guys. One of my favorite songs ever
This was a good impression of Corgen, but I came here in search of a cover that doesn't have that nasal destroyer sound about it. Guess I'll have to keep searching. I love Corgan's depth of lyrics... I just wish he had the same depth of voice! Actually I love Corgan's voice when it's smooth. But he constantly alternates between smooth and nails on a chalkboard. But i suppose it's perfectly fitting, really. By lulling us into comfort and then periodically making our ears bleed, he effectively conveys the rollercoaster of his inner suffering.

Mayonaise is absolutely incredible and beautiful. i have suffered with bad depression, among other things in my life. The lyrics "i just want to Be Me... when i can, i will.." is extremely deep and personal. Sometimes a person with depression, or any type of the mental illnesses out there, feel like they are prisoners trapped inside of thier own brain, shackled in chains, Looking out on the chaos unfolding Outside, while being helpless on the inside and weeping. Sometimes... But I guess it's kinda hard to sound like Billy. At first I hated his voice, but it just grew one me. A bit like I had with J. Mascis. A wall of guitars and at first you think the voices are no match but after a while you realise they're a perfect fit! ;-)
Me too man. When MTV used to play disarm 50 times a day, I hated the song and hated his voice until I started listening to the whole siamese dream album, which I only did because my sister owned it.
I must confess I hate Disarm, for me it's a bad song... And I only own Gish, Siamese dream and Pisces iscariot, I haven't given the other albums much attention because at the time i found them to contain not enough heavy songs. I used to own Mellon Collie but gave it away to someone.
I think it's an overated song for sure. One of my favorites is hello kitty cat from pisces. Billy makes some really good heavy songs and I wish he would go back to doing that instead of selling out like most other popular artists.

I was in a band in NYC in 1993, We played a lot of Cure songs and 80s band songs to warm up, my 2 friends were amazingly talented for our age on the guitar and picked this song up in a few days, my drumming then was a five then and they were playing at a nine...Jimmy Chamberlin is a beast on that LP , he even said he threw in the kitchen sink when it came to those songs, I could not play one song after 100 times...they were my best friends,But my drums couldn't hold so I split the band.
