Even Kansas fans were surprised he went so high in the draft. We knew his game wouldn't translate to the NBA but we were happy for him. We were not happy for McLemore the next year. We knew he was screwed in Sacramento.
My biggest question is how would Fox fit with Luka? Both of them need the ball. Otherwise, yeah, it's a big surprise that the Kings didn't see how bad his basketball IQ was

Nothing raptors could do in that incident as iverson was the clear 1st overall pick, but just imagine the success we could’ve had if we got iverson
While not drafted by the Sixers, but traded right away to them after the Sixers traded Bridges to them, Zhaire Smith was even worse of a pick than Fultz.
Absolutely. Like anything else, there’s always the same teams drafting poorly. Everyone will miss on picks every so often no matter who. But there’s 5-6 teams ALWAYS in the lottery and never getting anything right.
Probably the best draft bust story of the last 25 years has to be the 2009 Timberwolves. They passed on Stephen Curry not once, they passed on him twice. Rubio was solid. It’s not his fault he was so hyped as a prospect. At the time you can see why they took Johnny Flynn over Curry. The fan base will never let that one go. But consider this. Would Curry have blossomed in Minnesota had they taken him? Probably not. He’d definitely be a perennial all star, unlikely he’d be able to led a group to a title up there.

Fun fact about Frederic Weis (the Draft Bust of the Knicks) - He was drafted in 1999. Nine years later, in 2008 (and after playing ZERO total NBA games), he was traded to the Houston Rockets for... Patrick Ewing, Jr!
I always have and will never understand why Ben Simmons is considered a bust, he was the guy who everyone said he was gonna be, but everyone wanted him to be a different player, a 3pt shooter, which is unfortunately what everyone is expected to be to succeed, without it he still got a handful of individual awards an all nba team, all defensive teams, steals leader, ROY, All rookie team never heard of a bust who achieved that. The Philly fans made him a bust by knocking his play style and criticism of his lack of 3pt shooting
Wasn’t that pic you showed at 2:46 of a Bucks team that “sucked real bad” one of their better teams prior to the Giannis era? I believe they made it to the Semis, no? Edit: Also, right after that, you mentioned “decades of dominance” of the Bulls, but wasn’t it just a decade of dominance? Jordan played 14 or 15 years (two or 3 of which were on the Wizards), and I’m pretty sure the Bulls weren’t dominant during the first few years of his career. This is not even 5 mins into your video, so I’m wondering what other stuff is gonna be inaccurate.
Ok...it's the Kings we are talking about, so plenty of errors...My thought is Pervis "Never Healthy " Ellison at the No 1 overall....and Yinka Dare'is the worst for the Nets at Number 3. I think Yinka in his native lounge means "He who come to NBA with no game."
Spurs fan here. I was NOT surprised to see Primo here. Good riddance. Also, as a Cowboys fan, I find it hilarious that the Dallas Mavericks managed to draft a player in the 89 draft whose name happened to be the same as that of a certain Hall of Fame defensive tackle for their city's NFL counterpart.
tbh id trade that 50 Mil for the 55th draft pick any day, the other drafts on this are considered great talents and your betting on the future of your org. specially picks 1-10, and lets be honest 30-60th, we ain't expecting much from them. might be a steal like some but, that 50 mil$ is a sweet in terms of finance and given that the draft was especially weak this year.
I know that draft misses are very angering in hindsight but I'd like to believe that its a necessary evil because a lot of the biggest misses are from inept scouting and honestly if even half of these players ended up on the some of the sorry teams it wouldve been like strapping an anchor on them right from day one. Draft miss steps are a good for the health of the league, middle of the pack teams need inept scouting teams to have a chance at players.
As a Lakers fan (on hiatus during LeBron's era because no thanks), I can safely say that Lonzo was the worst draft pick. Just because he was part of a trade to get AD doesn't change that. That trade was going to happen no matter what parts where used to make it work.
Marvin Williams was a decent player. Good enough to stick around for like 8 seasons. He averaged 15ppg a couple seasons. There are far worse Hawks draft picks than him. You mention Chris Paul like he’s some kind of must have top 3 pick. He’s a locker room bully who hasn’t even played in a finals game in damn near 20 seasons. Him and Marvin have the same amount of rings
@jimlahey3919 Agree on a few levels, but that time frame the Hawks was hunting for a franchise pg. Also, Paul made the finals with the Suns when they lost to the Bucks. I feel ya have to say Marvin just due to the fact you had Paul at 4 and Deron Williams at 3.
I disagree, mainly because of the decision that cost him his life. We never got to see what he could do, which is why he is ONE of the Celtics’ worst picks, but guys who actually got out on the hardwood and proved they sucked for the club will always move ahead of “what if” guys IMO
I would disagree. I believe that being a “what-if”isn’t as bad as being a player who played and sucked. For guys like Bias or even guys like D-Rose and Sam Bowie it’s hard to be overly critical bc you know they were talented but due to circumstances they didn’t get to show it.
