Wow. The temporary works largely removed from the lake, thank goodness. I just hope they can reinstate the surroundings to as close as they can to how they were originally. Thanks for this heartening view of the new viaduct!
That's the plan. Once they're done with the viaduct they'll tidy up and let nature reclaim the space around it. Then once they're done with the tunnel to Aylesbury, that concrete factory and other site works will be dismantled and turned into a nature reserve. If anything, HS2 should be leaving the area in a better state than when it started
Lovely to see the progress on the viaduct, and at 1.56 a good view of my favourite buttress pier 19, on the Grand Union Canal with a boat, thanks 👍👍👍👍....
Thanks Stephen for reminding me again of the name of this type of pier. I’m sure I’ll not forget now. No 19 is the one to the right looking north? There’s a couple more of this type adjacent north of Korda lake and 2 more further on. Thanks. 👍
@@stevenbennett6315How does travelling past the viaduct everyday for some years make it a waste of money ? Or do you mean the entire project is a waste of money, not the viaduct ?
@@TrevorWilliams-fq8mgthe entire project . £100 billion for a train that only goes 100 miles and because it doesn’t go to Euston anymore doesn’t save any time . Check the stats of how many people commute from Birmingham to London daily . It’s a pathetic amount
I don't disagree. I thought you were just talking about the viaduct as being a waste of money solution to crossing the lakes and canal. The HS2 Agency have egg all over their face with the way they have handled things. Do we need a high speed line ? No but we do need a line to ease congestion on the WCML . It needn't have been a high speed line. I think the government will have to save some face at some stage and build to Euston.

Great video. Looks stunning with the jetty removed on the lake section.

A very elegant structure which will look even better once all the service roads and works have been removed.
Beautiful. 👌
Absolutely fantastic engineering
What is the clearance between bridge and water.?
Approx 15m. Thanks for watching.
Complete waste of money
Says the armchair expert.😂
@@1chish I travel by train to Euston 5 days a week and I have watched the viaduct being built every step of the way for 10 years . What about you
