    Curious. This is my same dilemma. I’m heaving into home theater sound. Im currently using a Sony sound bar that supports all the fancy inputs (VRR,low-latency,120hz, etc) I plug my game console into the soundbar, then to my tv. Essentially I’m running the video signal through my soundbar to my tv almost like a multiple hdmi switch. I’m wondering if I was to do that same but plug the sync box in between the soundbar and tv. Would it still work without issues or even work at all?

    • @danightryder

      Does your tv support e-arc? You can plug your sound bar into the hdmi e arc input and your gaming console into another hdmi input. Same result. Then you can use the sync box.

    • @lukeconnolly
      @lukeconnolly ปีที่แล้ว +6

      I had this same question. I’m using different gear (Sony STR-DN1080 receiver) but if there’s pass through on your soundbar it *might* act similarly … what I did was plug HDMI inputs (eg Apple TV in my case) into the receiver (soundbar in your case), then the HDMI out of the receiver (soundbar) into the sync box, then sync box to TV.
      Earc coming *out* from the TV makes things trickier, since that doesn’t send hdmi video, just lets you output sound from TV-sourced streaming (like on-TV streaming apps). I hope this helps, not much info on it all but I got it working with my setup and it’s righteous

    Do all of these Sync Boxes support CEC? For example if i switch on my Nvidia Shield, it switches on the TV - does this still work?
    Even if I put say my PS3, PS4, Bluray Player and Nvidia Shield in an HDMI Splitter, and go into the sync box from there?

    Howbout using ARC? Not sure what signal is sent trough Arc, but what if its full signal then connecting the syncbox to it could make it work with anything that is on the screen regardless the source... You could then pass the signal further to the soundbar

      Govee / camera-T2 is better why? don't spend on $$-cables?
      I have it, and 4 Govee Smart Light Bulbs(all$40) on each corner of the ROOM, and the tall lamp by the side of where we sit (6-all Govee & link to the app) and ALL the WALLS of the room is a THEATER for PS5, DVDs. MOVIES, SPORTS. I even stream my laptop to the Flat 65" TV, at 10" away from the wall (it looks like it is floating in the air). It is like a NIGHT CLUB nothing compared to just lights around the TV. and if the screen is black everything gets dark like off "black", and when the TV is off, everything turns off. plus I can control each color intensity of light on each WALL of the ROOM.

    • @andrewhann7616
      @andrewhann7616 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yeah, I’m not convinced the current evolution of hdmi sync boxes is better than a camera based system like the Govee T1/T2. To my eye, the accuracy of the FancyLED sync box is too accurate; instead of nicely blending around the edge of the tv and subtly augmenting the picture, the individually color-matching LEDs appear to create bright, clashing blobs that draw the eye and detract from the picture displayed on the tv.

    The worst part about the Phillips Hue system is it won't stay connected and I've had to do a janky and lengthy factory reset procedure on multiple occasions. A lot of times it loses synce and months go by before I take the time to go through the lengthy process. It requires a Phillips Hue Bridge, and the Hue Sync system causes the Bridge to lose connection. I have had that Bridge for a long time and didn't have issues before adding Hue sync to the mix. I was hoping it was an old Bridge that was the source of my problem. I recently bought a starter kit with a newer Bridge and the same issue. I think I am just going to order this since I have a PS5 and pre-ordered PS5 Pro. Hue Sync was a massive waste of money. I love the diffused light strip though! I wish I could hack it to work with one of these other brand sync boxes.

    Fancy Sync Box.
    I appreciate the content but would really like to know, which sync box and lighting YOU would recommend out of FancyLEDs, Hue, and Govee?
    You are in a unique position in that you have tried and tested all 3. Most of us consumers have not tried or tested any of the 3 and I know my personal situation won't allow me to swap/change if I don't like the one I end up choosing. I was gifted a Hue Floor Lamp and Hue Bridge so I am tempted to just build on that but the price is definitely something that is making me hesitate.

    Will this box work with the Philips Lightstrip itself? I much prefer the diffused look of the Lightstrip but I want the 2.1 capability. It's a lot of coin for a luxury purchase so want to future proof as much as possible.

    The philips colors looks better on the wall, the other's seem to create a little bubble or is it youtube compression. Does the led strips have anything to do with that

    • @jeremyespinosa2237
      @jeremyespinosa2237 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The LED strip has everything to do with that. The reason why the Phillips hue looks so good on the wall is because their stip has a thick layer over the LEDs that diffuses the light. Essentially it blurs the gaps between each LED so it looks like one solid light. But it really is the same thing underneath that. Individual LEDs like the other strips. So you could manually diffuse the strips with some thin layers of styrofoam and adhevise. That way you can add multiple layers until you have the perfect balance of diffused light vs. brightness. Because each layer above the LED is going to reduce the max brightness that shines through.

    does this support lg 65'' oled evo g3 - 4k tv (2023) with their apps like netflix? someone told me you have to use a chromecast or google apps for it to sync (it cant use the apps you download on the tv itself)

    • @fancyleds
      @fancyleds 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      All TVs are compatible. However, a compatible HDMI device is required for the syncing of the LEDs, integrated apps on the TV will not be synced. So if you would like to watch Netflix for example with synced LEDs, you will have to watch using a compatible HDMI device like an Xbox or Amazon Firestick.

    Was so ready to buy one to hook up to my LG G4 but the fact that it won’t work with movies through the TV streaming Apps like Netflix or Disney+ is a deal breaker for me. Does anyone know if it’s the same issue if I try to use the Netflix app through my PlayStation? I mean regardless, that would make a smart tv pointless if I have to watch things through my console. Very disappointed, hopefully they will make one that supports tv apps.
