    Curious. This is my same dilemma. I’m heaving into home theater sound. Im currently using a Sony sound bar that supports all the fancy inputs (VRR,low-latency,120hz, etc) I plug my game console into the soundbar, then to my tv. Essentially I’m running the video signal through my soundbar to my tv almost like a multiple hdmi switch. I’m wondering if I was to do that same but plug the sync box in between the soundbar and tv. Would it still work without issues or even work at all?

      Does your tv support e-arc? You can plug your sound bar into the hdmi e arc input and your gaming console into another hdmi input. Same result. Then you can use the sync box.

    • @lukeconnolly
      @lukeconnolly 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +6

      I had this same question. I’m using different gear (Sony STR-DN1080 receiver) but if there’s pass through on your soundbar it *might* act similarly … what I did was plug HDMI inputs (eg Apple TV in my case) into the receiver (soundbar in your case), then the HDMI out of the receiver (soundbar) into the sync box, then sync box to TV.
      Earc coming *out* from the TV makes things trickier, since that doesn’t send hdmi video, just lets you output sound from TV-sourced streaming (like on-TV streaming apps). I hope this helps, not much info on it all but I got it working with my setup and it’s righteous

      Govee / camera-T2 is better why? don't spend on $$-cables?
      I have it, and 4 Govee Smart Light Bulbs(all$40) on each corner of the ROOM, and the tall lamp by the side of where we sit (6-all Govee & link to the app) and ALL the WALLS of the room is a THEATER for PS5, DVDs. MOVIES, SPORTS. I even stream my laptop to the Flat 65" TV, at 10" away from the wall (it looks like it is floating in the air). It is like a NIGHT CLUB nothing compared to just lights around the TV. and if the screen is black everything gets dark like off "black", and when the TV is off, everything turns off. plus I can control each color intensity of light on each WALL of the ROOM.

    • @andrewhann7616
      @andrewhann7616 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yeah, I’m not convinced the current evolution of hdmi sync boxes is better than a camera based system like the Govee T1/T2. To my eye, the accuracy of the FancyLED sync box is too accurate; instead of nicely blending around the edge of the tv and subtly augmenting the picture, the individually color-matching LEDs appear to create bright, clashing blobs that draw the eye and detract from the picture displayed on the tv.

    Fancy Sync Box.
    I appreciate the content but would really like to know, which sync box and lighting YOU would recommend out of FancyLEDs, Hue, and Govee?
    You are in a unique position in that you have tried and tested all 3. Most of us consumers have not tried or tested any of the 3 and I know my personal situation won't allow me to swap/change if I don't like the one I end up choosing. I was gifted a Hue Floor Lamp and Hue Bridge so I am tempted to just build on that but the price is definitely something that is making me hesitate.

      @johanlahti84 Spot on correct as I'm in the same position right now and same setups in a huge outdoor converted granny annex and I'm disappointed and a bit stuck in what direction to go in now because all my ceiling lights are hugely expensive philips hue lamps and i have 4 of them, followed by two hue play bars each side of my tv. But then i have two new Govee lamp pros either side of a king size bed at the other end of the annex, then going back to the other end again a Govee glide 8 bar wall light wrapping around the outside of my LGC9 and a Govee rope light 2 which I'm still yet to install so I'm thinking that must council out this fancy light sync box because of the one hdmi port and not being able to add more lights. And now having seen the colour and brightness range of the 4 compared it looks like the govee brightness is meh and the lowest of them all plus as you know to well if i go Govee i can't pair to my hue bridge for my ceiling lights and bars, if I go with hue it doesn't have matter so final summary "Meh" what to do, at this moment I'm edging towards going with the hue 2.1 hdmi sync box as my LGC9 has 4 X true 2.1 hdmi ports and then having the use on my ceiling lights and tv bars plus i could then also buy a Phillips hue light strip or diffuser strip to put to the wall behind my tv because i do not want colour burn on my oled panel as this happened on my previous 65 " Samsung Oled.
      Thank you for reading if you reached this far and if you can add your input or ideas i would be very grateful. I hope you reached your painstaking decision to00 🤗🙂

    The worst part about the Phillips Hue system is it won't stay connected and I've had to do a janky and lengthy factory reset procedure on multiple occasions. A lot of times it loses synce and months go by before I take the time to go through the lengthy process. It requires a Phillips Hue Bridge, and the Hue Sync system causes the Bridge to lose connection. I have had that Bridge for a long time and didn't have issues before adding Hue sync to the mix. I was hoping it was an old Bridge that was the source of my problem. I recently bought a starter kit with a newer Bridge and the same issue. I think I am just going to order this since I have a PS5 and pre-ordered PS5 Pro. Hue Sync was a massive waste of money. I love the diffused light strip though! I wish I could hack it to work with one of these other brand sync boxes.

      I used to have the Govee with the camera and Phillips Hue's HDMI sync was a highly noticeable upgrade of how much better it synced and flowed with the colors on screen. It felt like it was worth every penny spent until I discovered that the box consistently loses connection and can't be synced back to the app without a janky and lengthy factory reset and pairing procedure. I'm very close to pulling the trigger on this instead. You really need to have tried both to see for yourself the difference. I would never go back to a camera option.

    Looks great. But as mentioned it will only work in whatever HDMI port it is plugged into. I guess I could plug my Xbox or ps5 into it and watch and do everything through that HDMI input. But unfortunately I do have a ps5, a series s, a one X and also my tv input. With my govee I can have all those operate from what’s in the screen alone. And couple that with all the other light so can add to the system and it’s great. It looks better in the dark anyway so no problem with having to dim or turn overhead lights off.
