Why is everyone so upset about Casey Clinger? This is not new. There are tons of international transfer athletes for schools ranked in the top 6 who are almost 30 year old freshmen.
I remember going to Colorado one summer to yrain at altitude and the first day went out for a 8 milr run. Got out to the two mile mark and turned around
I’m referring to the broadcast as, at any point, the metric splits that are shared can be converted into miles. I just don’t want to do the math and it seems as if the broadcasters don’t either, which makes the pace a bit more challenging to appreciate
The race was a metric distance so the only timing mats & markers on the course were for metric splits. Our broadcast only uses what is accurately collected, thus the metric splits for a metric race.
Of course is was metric distance and of course that’s how the mats were placed. That aside, if you want to offer a friendlier broadcast, just one of you should easily be able to convert the numbers to miles to save 1000’s viewers the hassle. That’s the idea, assuming that ratings matter. Bring content that’s as friendly and interesting to as many people as you can, right? And it gives the announces just a little more to talk about … everyone wins … other TH-camrs and traditional mediums of running races can and do do this.
I got u. They’re basically running 4:40avg per mile for about 5 miles (8k is around 5miles); so some of the miles were likely under 4:40 and some may have been slightly over. For 800, the first 800m was likely around 2:20 pace at the slowest, possibly even faster than that, but no quicker than 2:10ish, so between 2:20 and 2:10 pace, but it most likely slowed to a moderate 2:20-2:30 pace after that at the slowest for the leaders.
I think Casey placed 5th in the 10K at the trials. He will find success at the pro level. I think he is running for his teammates and coach to help BYU obtain a team title against a stacked International team from Oklahoma State. I've always had the sense that Casey is a team first type athlete.
Glad to see the 26 year old men are having fun out there, glad they brought the gold home to their wives and children
Triggered?
Glad they uploaded the VHS version
Extra points for saying “seven years” three times during the interview with Clinger 😂
BYU...domination. What a great team.
No words for complete dominance, except wow!
12:24 "not entirely bad, that's uhh.. you know around uhh.. 4 40 mile pace"...
Me whose fastest mile ever is 4 45: "what a bunch of slackers!"
I watched this race during school
@@Aguywhodoes same😂😂

Way to go Michael Mireles, UCLA (6th) and JaQuavious Harris, Salt Lake Utah Community College (8th). 👏

@@IsaacBaker-m8y people are complaining about them probably more frequently than this
yes the international is definitely worse
They could have made the finishing chute a little bigger. Surprised there weren't more collisions with all the people just standing around.
Imagine being on BYU and running sub 24 mins and still being 10th best guy on the team😅
That would suck

That's when you gotta lean hard into the HGH and as many steroids as your body can reasonably handle before blacking out at the start line
Epic.
Simeon birdbaum??
do i see anthony fasthorse???
Oregin?
26 and still competing against college athletes? Is that how BYU does it? I get the mission stuff but seriously?
26 is actually pretty unusual. 23-24 is the typical age of a senior post-mission(I ran for Utah State)
I guessed I missed it. Which BYU'er is 26? Love your comment!

What are the mile and half mile splits?
Kilometer splits were taken during this meet.

When you can’t make it at the pro level of running, kick ass in college as long as possible! 😀👴🏼
