That whole thing was cool. Lots of good techniques by both contenders. 1:15 Good block there. 3:03, 4:10 Wow! 4:20 What the beans was that, it looked so funny? Guy pulls out dagger, immediately gets stabbed, looks disappointed, tries to put away dagger, throws away the dagger, then picks up the sabre from the floor, and the fighting continues? That whole thing looked like a scene, from a comedy movie. Lol!👍😂
Nice to see a crisp Fiore fencer with actual recognisable implementation of the system. It's a shame he didn't get off any one handed sword plays, just used the Master position but still good stuff. And massive props for getting the 7th play of Stretto!
Jordan's Armizare looks really good here. Pretty interesting watching Fiore vs Meyer in this instance. Some really good shots by Esther too like the torso strike around 1:14 or so. Really enjoyed this video.
Can we all just take a brief moment at the awesome exchange at 1:42. This is the stuff we need in more knight films honestly. Kudos to all in this school.
Of course the second I pay attention to the sabre match in the background is when he gets the sword knocked out his hand and immediately pulls a dagger 🤣
It was, for me, quite a mental hurdle for to go from doing forms and pell work to sparring and another for tournament matches. Relax and have fun 🤩 and the dedication and practice will pay off vs the lithe limber kids who halfhearted practice
Esther is wearing the ones in the link below, underneath normal spes elbow cups. I am not 100% sure on Jordan, they look like the Spes stuff that comes with some of their heavier jackets, but I know he has also been testing Kvetun protectors recently www.woodenswords.com/Encased_Forearm_Elbow_Guard_Set_p/pha.forearm.enc.v2.htm
I think that Esther over-commits. She swings really wide and that leaves her open. you can really see that in most of her strikes. If you compare to that Jordan's strikes you can see that they are much more efficient and that he leaves himself less open. Also, for his height, I think that Jordan stands really close to Esther, he can be much further thanks to his size. This is not a very balanced match.
Hm..the guy in black (Jordan right?), i think he comes a bit too close then freezes while close to measure, in very wide deep stances, often with only one leg bearing most of the weight, i think it robs him of potential explosivity ( wastes time and energy to actually move out of this very deep knee bend and shift his weight and position), he already is quite nicely conditioned, agile and fast, but could be even more if this was modified ? Too much unneeded motion i think, its exagerrated. Also that lingering close to the opponent without either attacking or otherwise occupying their sword, i think its very dangerous, if he were to encounter a more springy explosive enemy while this close and in such a deep stance, i think it would make him an easier target. Maybe he did so becouse he felt he could get away with it in this instance but its still a risk with not much in the way of reward, i'd say.
Loving getting back into longsword! Thanks again to Jordan for this fight!
Give Jordan a set of plate armor to fight in and he would give off dark souls boss vibes.
Ah that explains why i heard boss music during this fight 🤔
He's already a boss fight bro, what you think the knife is for? Phase 2
Esther's at a pretty serious disadvantage being so much smaller than Jordan but still managed to give a good showing, big props.
Not a HEMA practitioner but the guy in blacks stances look really crisp and tight. Thanks for sharing your sparring footage with us!
Fiore is truly the best system for striking a cool pose!

Background fights are always the best
1:44 bro the sparks!
Considering that's a shorter fencer with a shorter sword to boot, they close in for hand hits quite well.

This dude is HUGE!!! I find it very difficult to fight against taller people so big respect to Esther!
Jordan strikes like lightening.

I'm in awe at the size of that lad.
If it's not odd to ask, how tall is Jordan? He seems to tower over most people XD
"NONE SHALL PASS!"
Too tall hehe
6ft 4
There was even a tiny spark flying of their blades at some point! Epic moves :-) Seemed like a very technical fight for me as non hema person ;-)
very very cute 4:20 sabre guy
Ah, that would be me :-)

Nick ruthlessly attack tiny sword T.T..
in Korea over the pacific I m getting to know you guys : )

Lots of sloppy HEMA fencing on youtube, but I really enjoyed watching this. They're both great.
Some very nice exchanges. I particularly liked the blade grab!
Nice Fiore Postas by Jordan (black).
Where did he get that awesome armour?
Seriously, I need to find out where!
Hey man where did you get your gear? All of it. Please let me know, I must have this for my setup. Man in black.
1:23 Oh he was baiting her to lower her sword so he could stab her.
@Jordan Could you share your kit? Looks like some superior fencing gear and love the rondel...
Wow Esther is really good at closing in, i would have major trouble with an opponent of that size.
Jordans stances are really crisp :D
Quiet good indeed! Chap in black seemed very crisp.

More Jordan pls
What kind of knee/Shin guards is Jordan using? They look really nice
they're kvetun leg guards I believe
Very good stuff!
Bro's got limbs for days! Both fighters look great
This is the kind of stuff in in to 🤩
The dude in the right(myb he is Jordan i dont know) looks sick with that fit. Tight fit cloth with that height and skill just damn...
What type of arm protection is this ?

Oh yes dark souls but fighting a literal fucking Giant
black goblin cyborg 🤭😮
The black's movement is so sudden and hard to predict
God that dude is tall...

i cant tell if the dude on the left is tiny or if the dude on the right is a giant but regardless he is *very intimidating*
