Cross breed means mating 2 individuals of the same species but different breeds together. So in canaries that could be mixing the breeds of Yorkshire x Fife for example, or in dogs Labrador x Poodle. What you’re alluding to is a hybrid, mating two individuals each from a different species together. Which obviously, Serinus Canaria domestica x Serinus Canaria domestics isn’t a hybrid. Does that make sense?
