Came here to just see what type of pedals and string gauge. Saw them live Saturday and Tim was nice enough to toss me his pick & then sign it afterwards. 🤘🏻
First time I've seen the Loomis pedal. Looks rad but IMO a big missed opportunity in that they should have added a little switch to send the boost out the path to the front of the amp or to the fx loop depending on how you want to use it.
The Only thing I don´t get why run 2 Gates in front when you could easy run the Zuul in the loop with the Key Input that way the whole rig would be Silent when the gate hit´s Thats how I do it and never had a noise issue
So the DBX in the front is more of a failsafe and to give me a little extra bump after the 25' loom since it looses a little power. The Zuul is awesome but sometimes has its hiccups. The DBX in the back just silences the "Amp hum".
I've recently discovered FFAA. They do got some reeal good shit! But I never seen Tim nor the other members up this close. And now I'm a bit jealous of Tims beard and I wish I had a guitar with seven strings ☹️🤣 Is it just me or doesn't his guitar look quite small compared to him or is he a giant? 😝
So the DBX in the front isnt really running full force. I use it more for a little db boost in the front since a 25' loom would loose some power. Its kind of a fail safe. The Zuul gates the front, the DBX gates the loop.
Question. You’ve mentioned that Two Towers is in E Standard with a low G, as opposed to the usual Drop G in your playthrough. Are there any other songs like that?
@@Thenicksamples Id still say that the majority of 7s still use a 25.5" scale. It wasn't until recently that 26.5"+ guitars became widely available. They were made, but it didnt really go over well until the last 5-8 years.
Sometimes gear relationships just fade out. I still absolutely love the Mesa stuff and always will but EVH is taking real good care of us and the product is insane.
I saw you guys live in NJ a few months ago, I could’ve sworn you had your guitar plugged into a solid state amp with the gain at 10 and volume at 10. I could not hear anything other than just one loud noise. With that amount of gear, you guys need better sound engineering at the venues.
I paused Married with Children for this, didn’t disappoint
Oof. Amazing show.
I'm disappointed you watch that show 😅
Eeeekkk
Wow, I've bought the same Ibanez xiphos just about a week ago. What a beast of a guitar! And fact that Tim uses one too just make it even better
Its a ripper!
That ending man lol , sweet rig rundown, definitely making me think about getting an ibanez.
Hell yes! Its definitely worth having one in the stable.
Love stuff like this man. Keep it up. The ending though. 🤘🏻
gotta add the comedy relief.
I never expected to see a Ibanez AZ here! I own one and love it.
I love mine. These two are work horses and sound amazing.
Outtakes we’re the best 🤘😎
Very sick, always loved these rig rundowns.
Cannot wait for you to release your pickups dude!
Hell Yes!
Hands down the best beard in the genre👌🏽

see ya next time!
Siiiick! But we need to hear how it sounds PLEASE
Gotta come hang at a show!
Then you gotta come back to Gothenburg!
This was so sick
solid rig 🥷
Thanks!
I’ve never seen a 7 string az! Super sick!
King of the beard
I try!

Thank you this was awesome
Hell yes! Come back for more
I fucking love your RGR! I have my rg7321 wired similar.
Hell yes, Thats my baby haha.
That white Ibanez with maple neck is awesome. I own the evh 100S and 50 watt 6L6. Not shure if I should get the iconic or play what I already have.
for the price, do it!
Where does one acquire a stage snapple? The ultimate thirst quencher for the stage. I believe everyone needs a stage snapple.
hahaha we got it on our tour rider.
Killer man!!!
THAT WHITE RGR!! 😍😍😍
Its da best
Ibanez on top, i have 2 grg7221 7 strings and a grg 121dx six string. And for my amp I use a peavey 6505 + 112 combo
Love this vid. Hope you make more!
Theyre on their way!
Gotta have that stage Snapple
ALWAYS!
New tour, new rig rundown!?!
Love your vids and your style of play, any signature guitar yet with Ibanez.
Not yet, hopefully soon!
@@IamTimHowley that would be sic would love to see that one day.
Yo, I saw you guys open for Lamb of God in LA. You guys killed it! I hope to get tickets to your next headliner so I can se a proper pit circle. \m/.
Hell yes! See you in March!
@@IamTimHowley just saw you guys again at 1720 and you all fuckin’ ripped, again. I’m a fan for life.
@@JWTechn1qu3lol what a beautiful story this is. Same thing happened to me with lamb of god when i saw them with Megadeth and trivium
Hey man! Great liveshow at Rock In Solo !!! Thanks for coming to indonesia 🔥🔥🔥
We'll be back!
Cab(s)? The outtakes...
EVH 5150 4x12 and 2x12

Brilliant rundown, massive fan of you guys! Yet to catch you riffing it up live, any plans to maybe hit any UK festivals next year..?
See you at Bloodstock!

Tim!!!!
it me.
Awesome guitars, man, what do you use for string gauges since you have both Drop G and E Standard/Drop G?
10-64 for Drop A // 11-70 for Drop G // Then a 10-52 set with a 70 on the bottom for Two Towers.
@@IamTimHowley Cool, thanks man
What was the guitar you played in the far from heaven live session? (Ibanez Tele Body) and can I buy it?
lol
Gotta do a signature snapback
hahaha I really do.
Where’re your Ibanez fr guitars? I love them!
Didn't use em on this run! Got something in the works though!
song playing in the backround of the video?
I am wandering what is the plus of the dbx 266 if the zuul is already cancelling the preamp noise?
So the DBX in the front isnt really running full force. I use it more for a little db boost in the front since a 25' loom would loose some power. Its kind of a fail safe. The Zuul gates the front, the DBX gates the loop.
Question. You’ve mentioned that Two Towers is in E Standard with a low G, as opposed to the usual Drop G in your playthrough. Are there any other songs like that?
There aren't. That was just one of those random songs that it worked out better for.
This blew my mind, I’ve just learnt it in g and now I’ve gotta relearn it 😂
title of the song in the beginning?
I have DBX 286s for vocals. Dope to see someone using DBX gear.
Honestly its such a great addition to any guitar rig.
Yo. Did you used to own a Roehrs Guitar 7 string? It somehow came to me and the person who sold me it said it belonged to someone in FfaA.
If its a blue tele style, it belonged to Pat.
Yep that’s the one. Thanks!! Let him know it still gets played a ton.
Alexa play To the Wolves by The World We Knew
A rig rundown with no kemper, helix or quad cortex is very fun and entertaining.
So you’re cool with Axe Fx?
haha Gotta go old school i guess.
How do you find the 25.5in scale length when you're tuning down to Drop G?
typically on seven strings, scale length is 26.5 so it can support lower tunings like drop G
Honestly, I enjoy it. I run 11-70s on my drop G guitars. I dont have massive hands so longer scales are uncomfortable for me.
@@Thenicksamples Id still say that the majority of 7s still use a 25.5" scale. It wasn't until recently that 26.5"+ guitars became widely available. They were made, but it didnt really go over well until the last 5-8 years.
I love 5150s and The Mesa stuff but Im just curious what led you guys to choose the new 5150 over the Mesa/Boogie heads?
Sometimes gear relationships just fade out. I still absolutely love the Mesa stuff and always will but EVH is taking real good care of us and the product is insane.
@@IamTimHowley makes perfect sense man
Those Picups look like dimarzio I'm sure
Nah, he said Guitarmory Pickups ;)

lmao NEXT WEEK!
I love my iconic...... It really is a sic amp. Run it through an orange w v30's, ksr eros and wallah! Palm mutes that resonate in the nut sack 👌
Yeah man, its definitely worth the cash!
Who?
Whatup Tim 🤘🏽
What effects do you use for rhythm?
Rhythm I only use an 805 Overdrive from Seymour Duncan.
