@@zeroarts7623 I personally thought the remakes were amazing games. And Pokemon has been passed to the B team of the company {last i heard, around Sword/Shield release time}, A team is working on something else now. Hence the decline in quality of the games. Popularity is one thing, but the truth is, it really seems like they are starting to scrape the barrel for ideas, which is why we are seeing drastic changes to the pokemon format. Arceus was a massive change to the game formula, and whilst i hope that trend continues, i doubt we will get anything that can touch the quality of what has come to pass, without massive investment from the parent company, which seems reluctant to do so on a franchise that has lasted far longer then they probably expected. All that said, the amount of hate the newer games has been getting, is disproportionate to the actual issues people have with them. Its not "Freak out" worthy, Arin doing it for comedy is one thing, but people in general doing it are just children.

Dan not getting the puzzle at 57:26 brought me back memories of me and my mom playing Puzzle Freak on Y8, such wonderful memories that i had completely forgotten for over 12 years.

Yeah and the studio that normally dose the games are focusing on other prospects. really makes me wish they would just sell the franchise to somone else. or make a separate branch in nintendo to do the pokemon games. or more drastically purge the current staff and rehire.

The problem is that Pokémon is the most successful _multi-media_ franchise, and the games don’t make the most money, and the money they do make, they make even if they’re mediocre. So as much as Gamefreak would like to make a decent game, they just aren’t given the resources by the Pokémon Company. Hell, they didn’t get to make Pokémon Z at all and just kinda had to cram some of its elements into Sun and Moon.
Yupppp! The Pokemon games that don't look like shit are the ones not made by gamefreak...except for Let's Go, which I think look cute and clean (but a little plain).
Pokemon Mystery Dungeon leaned heavily into a watercolor style, so it looks quite simple, but very pleasant. The best-looking Pokemon game on the Switch has gotta be Pokken Tournament-- every character model is full of life, and the 3D environments are great. However, it is a Wii U port, not made directly for the Switch.

@@tangsprell1812 I've never had a complaint about Pokemon's graphics until now, even with Sword and Shield, I thought it was alright, and I especially liked OR/AS graphics.
Pokemon isn't that kind of franchise that needs amazing graphics anyways, so I've always considered the graphics kinda meh, not great by any stretch but not bad either.
But the Diamond and Pearl remakes look like dogshit, and it's absolutely insulting that Nintendo actually approved this and didn't tell them to go back and fix this shit, it's embarrassing how bad it looks.
Idk how they messed it up either.
For the out of battle graphics they were obviously inspired by this game but messed it up, and for the in-battle graphics they were obviously inspired by Let's Go Pikachu/Eevee and messed that up too, which blows my mind since it's from the same damn franchise so just straight up copying it would've been fine..

It's subjective. These are the clips that I found funny while listening and I included important plot points from the game so it's easier to follow along with the story.
I can always count on them to recount how long they've been doing the show, in any playthrough.

I feel like each game Link has their personality. This Links a little nerd who puts his names on his weapons just in case he loses it, twilight princess Link gives me older brother/cool uncle vibes and BOTW is kinda of odd as if spending 100 years in deep sleep changed him like the fact that he genuinely enjoys eating food that is described as “barley edible”

The Pokémon argument is spot on! It looks like garbarge compared to other games that have a fraction of their budget.

In the Zelda Versus, I want the final winner to be walking toward the podium, and all of a sudden, there he is, Squackle... And as slurmp raises his fist, Squackle plays his ocarina, and out of nowhere, from the sky, the Wind Fish falls on Slurmp, crushing him instantly, before letting out a loud, derpy "UUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUR" whale yell.
Squackle stands alone as the victor. It is a lonely path, being the greatest of all time, but Squackle walks it all the same.
The map that Dan is paused on while Arin grabs his food, looks like weird, 8-bit, side profiles of Dan and Arin... the top left looks like Dan and the tip right is Arin...

Edit 1: alright I’m about 43 minutes in. Arin surprisingly has been very tame so far. And I absolutely agree with his opinion (crazy, right?) on the Pokemon DP remakes.
Arin is more favorable of the 2D zeldas and he’s not playing, so the rage was always going to be less lol. But yeah his take on Pokémon is so right.

thought arin was being a crazy grandpa for a moment but he really is right about the pokémon games, i feel like with the money they have they could do so much more with how they're handled in looks. especially when it comes to switch games there's so much more you can do but i think it just lacks a bit of polishing to make it really great
They just don’t have to try. Majority of people will buy these games anyway and they have to keep up to date every year with all the cards, toys and merchandise so they can’t delay games
Still pretty sad that Nintendo would have them push these quality of gaming out to people.
Pokemon has a ridiculously small development staff for one of the largest franchises in the world, something that only makes sense when you start to understand that, as a series, it's design to push out new designs they can sell merchandise of, more than it functions as a way to innovate, break new ground, or actually work to get players interested. Pokemon fans, unfortunately, have become the jailers for the Pokemon franchise; endlessly buying the new games and defending them, hyping them up etcetera, despite the flaws... it's really what's been letting Nintendo get away with it for so long.
If they don't come back and steal something I'm gonna be real sad...

Lol I'm one of the few that disagrees with Arin's Pokemon rant. I think it looks great and can't wait to play since I never played the original Diamond and Pearl.
You don't need to have played the original to see that it looks incredibly rushed.
