The one real breakdown with this game is, the longer you don't notice an anomaly, the harder it is to see. Anything that isn't literally staring you in the face, will quickly fade into the background. Like, they consistently failed out even when me and an entire room of people couldn't find a single other anomaly. Also its sometimes unclear how to identify things. Also also it was really annoying that the intruder counted as "balcony" when you could only see him from the living room.
I actually think the idea of things being in one room but only visible from another is kinda genius. It forces you to try and piece together the layout of the house, and makes it feel like an actual place instead of just a sequence of disconnected rooms.
Yea, they never noticed that the number of pills on the table changed. And I think when they finally thought to take note of them the number had already changed.
I mean, the whole point of the game is to play mindgames with you and fuck with your perception of reality. It might not be the best at communicating it's mechanics but it's genius in forcing you to think outside the box and making you question your sanity. You can only trust the information you take in towards the beginning of the night. The big scares are meant to disorient you and make the small stuff slip through the cracks. The reporting mechanism is janky and forces you to sit and wait with the anxiety of not knowing whether you're right or not, and the moment when it says no anomaly found you know you've lost the plot. I really like this game conceptually, though I'll concede that the execution isn't 100% perfect.
Think the fact that not noticing an anomaly means that you think it's normal makes it creepier and cooler. Uses your own perception against you to create an atmosphere of unease ('were there always five chairs here!?')
This is definitely one of my top five favorite games they've ever played. The games where they can't get distracted and talk about some nonsense (there are plenty of other videos if I want Grump nonsense) but there's something so enjoyable about how focused they get. It gets me really into it, too.

That's the only thing anybody can seem to come up with... that they got VERY lucky. But there are a couple moments in the new house episode where they fix an anomaly they're sure of, and when they go back what they reported it for is still there. So I have no clue lmao this game has me baffled.

The game doesn't seem to process the anomaly reported until it actually finishes pending the report, and then in that moment checks to see if there's an anomaly of that type in the room. Since one of that type spawned in the room when the report was pending, when it checked the room, it saw the anomaly they'd reported and fixed it, leaving the one they *thought* they were fixing. I like that, though, it fucks with you a little!

There's an anomaly in the first game, second house, called Giant Man that I got every play through and I was so disappointed that they never got it! It scared the shit out of my partner and I the first time we saw it

Honestly, the biggest pet peeve I have with watching gameplay of this series is when the players report an anomaly and accidentally get it right, but they have no idea what the anomaly was because they immediately changed cameras after the report.
I knew that this series would do well. It has so much potential. Right up there with the dating sim games that are absolute gems. It's sort of like that one game where it was just the man in a fedora walking around his house and swearing along with Five Nights At Freddy's. Ben something I think it was called. So, for those who don't know, I looked up what the blinking light in the kitchen means. Apparently, it's connected to a secret ending: When the blinking light comes on (About 1 AM), click on it, and it starts saying stuff in that weird voice. At 3:30, you're supposed to click on the input button that appears. Type in 2013, and you unlock the secret ending. You only get about 10 ingame minutes to do this. Honestly, I thought it had to do with the intruder that runs up to the balcony (Get there at 3:30 to file the report on him, YKWIM?). Don't know if this was discovered by someone else in the comments, but just wanted to get this information out there for fun.

Man, this really is Gaslight Yourself: The Game.
So, for those who don't know, I looked up what the blinking light in the kitchen means. Apparently, it's connected to a secret ending:
When the blinking light comes on (About 1 AM), click on it, and it starts saying stuff in that weird voice. At 3:30, you're supposed to click on the input button that appears. Type in 2013, and you unlock the secret ending. You only get about 10 ingame minutes to do this. Honestly, I thought it had to do with the intruder that runs up to the balcony (Get there at 3:30 to file the report on him, YKWIM?). Don't know if this was discovered by someone else in the comments, but just wanted to get this information out there for fun.
21:22 the issue isn’t the issue, since it isn’t a new issue. The issue can be fixed later, but the issue comes if it’s a different issue. Only then is it an issue. Understood, or is there an issue?
There's something so oddly specific that I love about this series.
Danny and Arin have this weird "We decided to stay out til 2am at the club, are still too hammered to fall asleep so they're just up and shooting the shit until they sober up more" vibe to them in this.

1: 2:18 I can see NOTHING wrong, what the heck were they talking about when they kept saying that there's a man in the corner?
2: I'd like to know why so many of the intruders are straight up naked XD you know as opposed to the ghosts and corpses
3: thank GAWD the part of the jaiden video with "man on couch jumps at camera screaming" is not included; that was by far the number one most scary part in this series
4: man it's so scary when you catch an object, like a chair, moving when they change to that exact room and you see it happen

At 2:18 the corner they were talking about is at the bottom right outside the door/window, you can see the shadow of someone looking at the camera
2:10 I have since learned more about the company that made that graveyard game, and they are kinda fascinating
I think it'd be funny if one of the levels caught on fire, but you couldn't do anything because it wasn't an anomaly.
