    Tip for the Cerave cream: (If you have dry skin) Apply cream to wet face. It traps the water in your skin and hydrates better! Sounds crazy...but try it! 🙃

    My go-to moisturizer is riceberry litllexttra. I picked up my 3 tubes a few months ago, and I’ve been using it for 4 months. I have combination skin, and it feels like it’s made for my skin. It completely stops my skin from drying out all day. It’s non-greasy, doesn't have fragrance, this moisturizer feels great on a rainy or chilly weather. Maintains beautiful hydration. You can absolutely trust this brand.

      Donna I have severe eczema that used to flare up my entire body and face. I’d have a constant bleeding and raw skin patch that was near my shoulder to the start of my arms for months. For me, cerave helped me a lot compared to cetaphil. Although I use cetaphil face wash because it’s very gentle but cleans very well, I love using cerave on my body because I feel like and smooth. It truly depends on the person, but I would definitely say cerave helped me a lot with daily full-body moisturizing.

    Cerave cream made me feel like a fool! I’ve been used to using expensive moisturizers like Skinceuticals, Dermalogica, Kiehl’s - and Cerave performs just the same if not better. You can use it on face or body, so you don’t need dedicated ones for certain areas. And it’s formula is simple, simple, simple but still very moisturizing. I actually learned from my dermatologist that a lot of the fragrance/essential oils that expensive stuff claims as beneficial can eventually cause your skin to develop an allergy. You’re better at putting your money towards good quality sunscreens, Vitamin C antioxidants, and retinol.

    Mini review from someone with intensely dry, acne prone, textured skin:
    (Used for three months each)
    Cetaphil Pros:
    - Glides on the skin easily and can be layered with no problems
    - Leaves skin glowing
    - Works well with other products
    - Helped remove flakes
    - Gives you an instantly hydrated appearance
    Cetaphil Cons:
    - Highly greasy
    - Seemed to cause an increase in acne or in the very least didn’t help
    - Unable to place very close to eyes as a result of its greasiness
    - Needed to be reapplied throughout the day
    - Gave little indication of long term hydration
    CeraVe Pro:
    - Non greasy
    - Thick but not overly thick
    - Improved acne, texture and overall hydration
    - Needs to be applied less
    - Saw an improvement in how my skin looked overall
    - Adds a slight luminous glow to the skin
    CeraVe Cons
    - Balls up if too much is used
    - Can not be used under makeup due to its thick nature
    Overall, the CeraVe cream wins. Not only did the overall hydration of my skin improve, but so did my redness and acne. The CeraVe cream is definitely a slow build for results but it actually repaired my highly damaged moisture barrier. I found myself applying it way less than the Cetaphil cream and found that my skin still looked and felt hydrated even if I applied it once only during the day. This is a great cream if you’re looking for something thick to put on as a final layer to your skincare. The Cetaphil cream provides a more instant result but provides no long term results. The CeraVe really locks in any moisture so it’s great for layering. If anyone wants to know my full routine, let me know (:

    When a product says unscented, it means no added fragrance, for Example: no citrus, lavender, menthol etc.

    • @YanLuo
      @YanLuo 5 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      not really, sometimes they label unscented for products use masking fragrance

    • @Keell444
      @Keell444 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yan Luo Yes that’s correct, products will say “fragrance free” or “unscented”, you do want to look for a product to say “fragrance free” But, the Cerave is legit fragrance free and unscented.

    • @HelenFire420
      @HelenFire420 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Yan Luo technically both terms are unregulated, so a product could be “fragrance free” but still have something like lavender oil. Things like the National Eczema Association stamp are what you should look for. Also read the ingredients.

    I've been using Cetaphil on my face for many years. It works well under make-up.
    Despite Cerave's hyaluronic acid, ceramides and its intended use as a facial moisturizer, I didn't find moisturizing on my face. It also caused several foundations to pill.
    Cetaphil is my daily moisturizer of choice. I use it in the am/pm. I don't find it too thick or greasy.
    Cerave works great as a body moisturizer and for hands as well. I never use Cetaphil on my body. I prefer Cerave for that purpose.
    You can get a pump for the Cerave which makes for more hygienic dispensing of products. Fingers in a tub? Yuck. I also use a special applicator and keep it near the jarred creams I use.
    Both last a long time. Even using Cerave on my body and hands, a jar will last several months.

    Ik I am 3 months late but at 7:39 I am a guy with really dry skin. Not like eczema however I can use heavy creams and products without breaking out. I find that it helps maintaining the (little amount of) moisture that my skin exudes. So I saw other people recommending was applying the cream while the face is wet, which does help, however I feel that it feels better on my skin (hydrating) when I apply a different thinner moisturizer or a humectant and use the CeraVe more as of an occlusive.

    You may want to watch Dr. Dre‘s videos on these products. The slow release in CeraVe (Sarah-vee) that she is referring to in her videos is long-term slow release, so it releases slowly over time for a more impactful long-term benefit. I’m concerned about Cetaphil (SEE-TA-Phil) after watching Shea Whitney’s video of products she will no longer buy because of ingredients in there possibly being carcinogens.

      TASK when should you put benzoyl peroxide and rosehip seed oil after moisturizing then

    • @_TASK
      @_TASK 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      babycake even though it might say in the instructions for acne treatments to put them under moisturizer they actually work better(especially with less irritation and especially with products like hylaronic acid that work best on damp skin) after moisturizing,so after putting the hylaronic acid product/cerave on damp skin,you could either go in with the rose oil right after, it’s best to put active ingredients like benzoyl peroxide on dry skin so you could either wait for the rose oil(or any oil/butter/occlusive layer) to fully be absorbed(10-20 minutes depending how thick/how much the occlusive is) or wait for the hylaronic acid product to completely absorb(like 2 minutes top) then put the benzoyl peroxide(or any actives like niacinamide or aha/bha) and finally top with the oil/occlusive. I personally do the oil after the active ingredient just to save time/make sure I don’t forget to use my actives later

    • @_TASK
      @_TASK 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      The reason the actives work better is because the skin is already moisturized so it will decrease the drying effect actually showing up and because water can cause an active ingredient to either not do it’s job or cause more irritation,if you put a moisturizer that has water in it on top of the active ingredient it’s the same thing as using water

    I really wanna love the Cerave cream because I've heard alot of good things about it. But I just hate how it gets tacky and glue like when I'm spreading it on my face😞

      Try the lotion version! It’s a thinner consistency and more comfortable in my opinion :)

    wish cerave would make a silicone-free moisturizer... their hydrating cleanser has been so good for my skin

      Jojjo450 silicones are in there to prevent transepidermal water loss. A good moisturizer will have some form of silicone to keep moisture in.

    I have been wanting to try CeraVe products, especially their Hydrating cleanser and the moisturizer but unfortunately they are not readily available here in India 🙁. So, for now I am using the Cetaphil Moisturizing Lotion. So far it's been working great. In fact my skin actually feels really nice. I had this dry rash and the Cetaphil really helped. But in future I'll be switching to CeraVe
