Mega Man 2 is a game that hardly needs any introduction. This movie plays Rockman 2, the Japanese version, which is essentially Mega Man 2 in difficult mode.

The into screen birds only appearing for the robot masters who have them in their stages is another nice touch.

I was wondering what special tech was going to be on display to make it worthy of an input display. Now I know it's for the secret DDR mini game.

Not _just_ showing off! It actually saves about 20 frames to end the fight up there because you have to wait for him to teleport off the top of the screen.

Lol jk. A zip is an exploit where you get inside the wall and the game tries to push you out. It can be exploited to gain speed or skip stuff--or both.
Mega Man 2 famously has a lot of them.

At 1:18 I found a way to kill the thing without stopping or does it not save time because reasons?
How'd you do it? Were you playing on Normal? This was the fastest way I found to mash in 20 shots.

Press up+down or left+right simultaneously. You'll need an emulator or a TASBot or a super busted controller to do it

Exactly, I don't think a human player would do it.
Technically if you press right and left at the same time and shoot, the gear does not go anywhere, but that can only be done on emulator or a controller modificated, sorry for bad english, it isn´t my native language

I mostly did that for show, but it actually does save a bit of time in the Flash refight.
